I use the 5w20 RP and highly recommend it. I found the best prices on e bay with a buy it now price. It brings the average price per quart down to $5.49 - $6.00 and no tax. The local parts stores get $6.49 on up plus sales tax.
I just saw a program on Spike TV that compared regular synthetic with Royal Purple. They measured an engine with 400 hp with both and the RP gave 9 more horsepower.

I just changed my oil and I used Royal Purple and immediately (on the way home) I saw a nice difference with my MPG (1.1 MPG difference with the same distance and driving conditions). So I guess the hype is true!!! Try it!

Not as expensive as you think. Recommended oil changes every 12k miles instead of 3k. Still need to change filter every 3k. Breakdown the $6 and the cost is $1.50 every 3k. I'm gonna try it. Like the more hp idea

My Amsoil and filter are good for 25000miles but I change it at
10k at $70 a change. I do it because I run the S#@t out of my
car and it makes me feel good knowing that I have the BEST
oil in my engine that's avilable on the market.
The oil wars go on forever. My dad had some old motor trade journals from back in the 1930s. They were arguing about brand and viscosity back then too. Any syn is excellent, and many feel RP is the best. I've used Mobil 1 since it came out many years ago, never had any wear or noise issues. I use RP in the Manual trans and rear end on my '08 GTCS. I get about 1.5 better mpg than the factory fill. My accord did do better mpg on Mobil1 15W50 in the manual trans, never tried RP in it.
Interesting conversation. For now, I am sold on Royal Purple. Like I said in an earlier thread, I was impressed with the tests Horsepower TV on Spike did using RP versus other synthetics. I beleive the link below will provide a video of that show and other interesting facts and research concerning RP. Take care!
Read the facts and you will find out that Royal Purple is
not as good as you think it is. Don't come around here screaming that
you can get Horsepower from a bottle. If it was worth it we would be
buying it in 5 gallon buckets.
I am sure it isn't blessed by God and takes engines to new heights. I have read enough about it, seen it review on TV, talked to people that have used it, 3 out of 4 car mechanics said they'd put it in their muscle car (if they had one). So this plus their convincing website is what sold me. I am sure their are other fantastic oils out there, I just haven't heard/seen the same praise over them as I have for RP.

If it really improved gas mileage the auto companies would be using it. They are in a continuous struggle to meet CAFE standards -- rear end and tranny fluid would be easy.
