I have the Saleen kit, and its great..plus its only 50 bucks. I've very happy with it. Search for the tread about Shifters and you can decide. I would go with the cheap mod first and if you dont like it, go with the more expensive ones. You can always put the saleen kit on ebay if you dont like it.

Well I am a bit biased since I work for B&M but if you are looking to get it I would recommend Mopac in Canada as a good source. They are one of our largest canadian dealers. Or, if you need more information please send me a PM and I will be happy to discuss further with you
I had the Saleen short throw adaptor, liked it. BUT, it was still the same sloppy stock shifter just with a shorter throw. Switched to the Pro 5.0, would never think of having a different shifter. It is by far the best "feel" I have ever had.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
I drove a car with the Triax, and i thought it was good, but not that much better than stock...The stock shifter is quiet and not notchy at all...i dont have any complaints that i would get rid of the Saleen.

I had the short shifter upgrade and it was nice but it was still "mooshey" I installed a hurst shifter with better bushings feels great and I didn't have to drop driveshaft to install like some others. Do your research before you buy.

I tried the Steeda Tri Axis shifter. The noise from the transmission was
too loud....I now have a Steeda Sport Shift....I am very happy with it.
It's quick & quiet(makes a snick...snick sound). I has a B & M Ripper on my last vette...it was great also.

I just swapped out the bushings on the stock shifter with the ones Steeda sells for 14.99 and the slop is gone... Will not be upgrading as the bushings did what I wanted...
Look into Saleen's SpeedLab short shift adapter ($50), and Steeda shifter bushings ($15). Shirter, faster shifts with minimal play and no noise. Pretty much gives you what all of the O.E. based shifters (Hurst and Steeda Sport Shifter), offer but for 35% less money. Trust me, it works perfecly well if you are careful to install the adapter without over torquing the bolts and put a little grease on the bushings.
Cheers

Yes, they are pretty easy to install. All you have ot do is just yank out the shifter and swap the Steeda poly bushings in place of the soft rubber bushings from Ford. I think it takes about an hour or so.
Unscrew the shift knob, pull up on the shift boot and pull it off the shift rod and set it aside, jack the car up and put it on stands. Then you remove the shifter bolt from the shifter body and the bolt in front, the two in the rear bracket and pull the shift housing out through the top. If you are installing the Saleen/Speedlab short shift kit now is the time to install the shift extention, make sure you use Loctite or some other vibration resistant thread lock material. Replace the factory rubber bushings by popping them out then pop in the Steeda replacement poly bushings. Use an extremely light touch of synthtic or marine grease on any part of the bushings that come in contact with the rear bracket/mount and the shift housing mouning parts to prevent any possibility of squeaking form dry poly. Put it all back together and don't over torque the shift rod to shifter body bolt and be sure to use threadlock material. Dry shift the car making sure you can get all 6 gears and you are done! Drop the car and enjoy it.
Cheers/Chip

I installed my sequential turn signals today. They look great.
yea i was looking at the steeda tri ax myself.i heard that was the way to go...but many people have said that its pretty loud.i looked at the saleen short throw shifter and it says it only reduces throws by 26%...but others claim atleast 40%.i want something that feels tight...has smoothe shifts..isnt loud...and is definately shorter than the stock one now.....best recommendation?

A guy at my drag strip let me feel his Hurst Comp/Plus shifter, 46% shorter throw.
I immediately went home and bought one.
