Default Bamachips tunes rock!

Got my X cal 2 from Doug at Bamachips. This thing kicks ass! The car runs like it is supposed to. Got the 87 and 91 octane performance and the 91 octane torque. You can feel the difference with the 91's. The car isnt as lean on the top end and the throttle lag is almost nill!
A lot more kick from the start with the torque tune.

If you got an extra $400 I recomend Doug. That includes the tuner and three tunes with free upgrades.:thumbsup

I have the 91 octane performance and my car runs very strong. The only negative for me is that my exhaust smells. I notice it when I come to a stoplight with the windows down and when I pull into my garage. When I switch to the SCT canned tune the smell is gone. Have you noticed an increase in fumes with the Bama tune?

Bama chips … are they fattening? As tasty as lays? I don't see them at my grocery store.

Doug said he runs pretty much the same AFR as SCT so he isn't sure why mine would smell rich.

I've been very please with my BamaChip tune. IMO the support after the sale is completed is very important. And, Doug is there ready to help.

Default Difference between Perf/Torq/Race?

I've looked around on the Bamachips site and in here to try and find a description of the difference between the individual Bamachip tunes, with little luck. Can anyone give a me a quick description of the difference between the Performance, Torqe, and Race tunes?

If I can get three tunes, I'd like for them to enhance the way I drive the car.

Also, would there be any reason to run, for example, a Performance tune for 87 octane versus 93 octane? Would it be to just save money at the pump? Is there a hp difference between the two just based on octane?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Never mind on that first question

....I found a thread by an English chap named Gibbo that summarized it.

Second question is still a valid one, eh?

From what I heard there is a few ponies that you get from the higher octane...but not much.

Hi there

Doug really is the man and his after sales support completely rocks. Just slip the guy $100 and he will give you all three of his tunes and the best after support you could ever wish for. If you lucky he might even give you all three for $50.

Race tune is easily the best, pulls just as strong as the torque tune down low but pushes you back in your seat more so than the performance tune at high revs. Completely linear acceleration, easily his best tune for drivability.

Going from Octane 87 upto Octane 93 would probably results in approx 10-15 RWHP gains if you have basic mods such as CAI, UDPs, CMRC's and LT Headers etc.........
