Hydrocarbon trap

Default Hydrocarbon trap
I installed a C&L intake last night and was suprised to see that there wasn't any hydrocarbon trap in the intake hose. I thought all 4.6 GT's came with one. Did Ford delete them after a certain date? My car was built in May 05. It also did not have tamper proof torx screws holding the maf sensor in the air box. The C&L kit came with the tamper proof bit so I assume most cars came with them.

Hydrocarbon trap was deleted midway through the 2005 production line. As for the torx screws, don't know. What type of screws were fastening your MAF?

They were torx but not tamper proof ones.
