Hey all,
My Procharger coolant tank ruptured and blew antifreeze all over my engine. Now my once pretty Procharger pipes are now stained with white antifreeze marks. I think the pipes are aluninum?? How can I get the pipes back to normal or is that impossible. If not possible should I ask Procharger to replace the pipes seeing that it was their coolant tank failure that caused the damage?? Thanks.....

Which brings up the question as to why all the superchargers for V8's use air to water rather than air to air intercoolers. I ran a big front mount intercooler on my high horse Supra for ten years and it was extremely efficient, not to mention looking wicked. Outlet temp was within 10 degrees of inlet temp at 18 psi boost. No extra heat exchanger, no water pump, no antifreeze-stained engine, etc.
Actually the Procharger IS an air-to-air cooler. The Procharger kit comes with a new aluminum overflow tank for the ENGINE coolant due to a new fan shroud and the intake tubing taking up the space where the old bottle was.
On a side note. ClubT, did your tank actually rupture or did the coolant just bypass the pressure cap? I overfilled mine after install and when it got really hot here a few days ago, it just puked all over the enginebay, but the tank is solid. It looks like the tank should be near-empty when cold.
Oh, and I tried to wipe it off and am having the same issue as you. I believe the tubing is PAINTED aluminum though so be careful what polish you use. I plan to just use piping hot water, a medium stiffness brush and cloths. I think the white stuff is just the stickyness of the coolant itself after the water all evaps, so with hot water and a hot motor and tubing, it should come off with some elbow grease.
