Hi everyone, I just picked up a black GT premium coupe yesterday; it is a very fun car. I have a question for all of you. I was caught in the rain this morning and noticed a pinging sound on the roof. When I got home and parked the car I tapped the roof and it sounded hollow, like there is no insulation between the roof and liner. I have never experienced this in any other car that I have owned. Is this normal? If it is that is fine, I can live with it, but if it is not I guess I need to go back to the dealer.
Ya, same with me. Went to work last week in the rain. I got in the parking lot with it raining hard. Very noisy on the roof. I leaned the seat back and closed my eyes waiting for the noise to go away. A few minutes later, the noise subsided quite a bit but never went away. I looked at my windshield and was surprised to see it barely sprinkling. I would say Ford is saving weight by not insulating.
