Thumbs up CAI/Re-Flash helped clutch engagement

I own a 2006 5 spd GT. I was getting an annoying jerky delayed clutch engagement off idle that made it difficult to accelerate from a stop smoothly. Little did I know that the problem has nothing to do with the clutch itself but instead the engines performance just off idle. When I recently installed a FRPP 90 MM CAI and computer re-flash, it solved the problem instantaneously. Apparently, the engine now performs better from idle (800-900 RPM) to about 1,500 RPM, where the clutch engages. Bottom line, no more jerky clutch engagement...very smooth and pulls strongly through 1st gear. Anyone with this problem should purchase a FRPP cold air kit, which is part of the power package. I went with different mufflers, so I ordered the 90mm CAI on it's own. (Part # M-9603-GTO6) Installed it myself in 30 minutes. Anyone with similar experiences?

This is great news, as I have the same problem, and I was also wanting the FRPP CAI, but did not realize you could purchase it seperately. Can you tell me where you ordered it from and how much it costs?

Thanks,
-danny

$624 from Summit Racing.com. Was dropped shipped directly from FRPP. Tuner comes separate after you register your VIN, etc on-line. I installed with JBA all-stainless steel axlebacks . Sweet sounding...much faster too. Eliminated low rpm bog off idle when feathering clutch out.

Its been 3 years since this post. I have this low rpm bog in my 07. Before I buy the FRPP cold air kit, I'd like to know if the original engine calibration (and closed air intake) can be restored if, for any reasons, I would want to do so? In other words, could I restore the hardware and software back to factory original?

The FRPP CAI referred to in this early post is the one that Steeda made for Ford. I have it, really like it and I'm using Bama Chips tunes. Bog is no problem with this combination.
