Angry Squealing sound on acceleration in 2nd gear

Automatic 06 GT

If you own a O6 GT Automatice manufactured after march does it make a squealing sound on accel in second gear only. I test drove 4 other cars and they all made this unusual sound. The dealer says it is a normal sound Bull _ _ _ _. Is this happening to you.

5 speed stick here,

experience the same phenomenon in 1st 2nd and 3rd on occassion with ford fun control system turned off

usualy occurs on heavy acceleration. i suspect you may have incorrectly identified the source of the sound

If you guys are using the recommended 87 octane fuel in your stock mustangs, I'm surprised you can even hear these sounds over all of that spark knocking that must be going on. I have had both an 05 and 06 mustang GT and they both spark knock like mad on 87 octane. Perhaps that's the grinding sound you hear. That would be the sound of the pitting of all those soft engine components in the top of your engine. Oh, Ford says it's perfectly normal for your car to spark knock. I guess the theory here is lots of work for their mechanics when our engines need to be rebuilt.

Mine doesn't knock at all and it's running 87. 6,000 miles and no knock.

I've had an auto tran 05 GT and had 27,000 miles on it using 87 octane and my new 06 man tran GT has a little over 100 miles and in neither one did I or do have any knocking problems .

My 05 GT manual has 23,000 miles no knocking and certainly no grinding noise on any gear.

It didn't. This line of thought originated from zman99's theory that the "pinging and knocking" of an engine running 87 octane gas is what the individuals who are experiencing the grinding noise when shifting are actually hearing. My man tran 06 GT has nether problems and my 05 auto GT did not as well.

my 06 has no knock or does it have any unusual sounds from the trans (5 spd man). my exhaust is loud and covers a lot of noises up, but my BMR parts with Spherical bearings has some noise too, but its not as bad as i thought.

I don't think this thread is about transmission whine anyway.

My 07 GT makes the same whining sound in second gear. Started at 150 miles on the ododmeter.

I have heard a lot of people complain of the same noise with the automatic.

Anyone know a fix?
