Default hard shifting from 2nd to 3rd

Anyone have this problem? My 06 GT 5 speed accasionally wont go into 3rd from 2nd gear. However , other times its ok. But generally it seems to engage harder than any of the other gears. could a snyncro be going bad? ive scheduled for a dealer visit, hoping it will get fixed, after which im getting the Hurst shifter. mileage now is 5,600. any ideas would be appreciated.

I have had this problem from day one and I think the Hurst will fix it for you. I have the Hurst Billet on order and will install it with my powerhouse driveshaft as soon as Summit get the new shifters from Hurst.

Hey Speed,

I've heard this complaint hundreds of times. I've noticed this sporadically on my 05 since day one. Given this, you shouldn't worry about it.

FYI, I installed the Saleen short-throw shifter upgrade (~$50) and noticed some improvement. All shifting is (IMO) improved greatly and for $50, it is definitely worth trying. This is a do-it-yourself bolt-on mod.

I had the Saleen adapter for quite a while. I thought it was great. But then I bought the Hurst shifter and i wish i would have went straight to that. I haven't missed a shift up or down since I've had it.

Hi there

I take is my Saleen S281 has the Saleen shifter as STD.

Whats this hurst shifter? Where do I get it and is it hard to fit?

Thanks

Andy

ive got a saleen also and the hurst make a world of difference. got it at rpmoutlet for 169 including shipping. cheapest price you will find. takes less that an hour to install. only 4 bolts, nothing to adjust. didnt even have to remove the driveshaft. you will need to people and some jack stands.

Hi there

Unfortunately those guys won't ship to the UK.

Anybody else sell it for a similar price that ships across the pond?
