I happened to look at my JLT intake yesterday. I've had it on the car for over 10,000 miles. The aluminum machined tube had begun to separate from the plastic main tube. Apparantly the glue used to hold the 2 pcs together had come loose. Anybody running these intakes may want to keep an eye out for it. I pulled the intake and tapped two small stainless screws through the joint of the two pieces, then ran a light skim of silicon sealant around the aluminum piece before reassembling and tightening down the new set screws.
The end of the filter assembly had also vibrated and worn a spot through the paint on the inner fender well. This could be a problem for anyone up north that sees salt and stuff.
Hope nobody else has this issue.

I think these CAI's are pumped out w/ out much thought to quality control. I can't believe how flimsy and poor fitting some are. Crappy piece of rubber elbow that doesn't fit for sh^t.
I agree that elbow is a POS. The one that came with mine was cut so crooked it didn't even extend far enough from the throotle body to clear it.
They did send one right away but it shouldn't have even come to that.
+1 here as well. Jay is only a few minutes drive from my home. I did have some issues with the 1st JLT for the 05's back in early 05. But he took care of it quickly. Love mine!
The plastic cut out for the filter box is a real POS and seems to have no purpose to me. It doesn't support the filter. If you pull the pipe out of the sweet looking rubber elbow to rest it on the plastic. The bottom of the pipe comes out because of the angle. At least the steeda one was stainless and well built.
ow it flowed the best on the 5.0 Mag test, but I much prefer aluminum construction due to the issues described above.
To each our own, I hope that the manufacturer makes things right for those of you with problems. I mean, everyone makes mistakes, look at how many TSB and recalls we had on our beloved mustangs. The thing is ford made them right and we all love our cars.
the way a retailer or manufacturer earns my business is how they handle issues for their customers.
