Default Hurst shifter with factory knob

Does anyone know if the Hurst shifter part #391-0201 can use the factory leather shift knob. I know it comes with the white shift knob but id prefer the leather one i got with the IUP. I saw an ad that showed the shifter part #391-0200 that accepts the factory knob. but wondered if the white knob can be replaced with the factory one. Thanks to all you guys who set me straight on the 2nd to 3rd gear problem.

if you dont want the chrome/white ball combo stick order part # 391-0200. it is the same shifter but uses the factory knob so it looks stock. 0201 is the # for the white ball....swapping the factory knob in place of the white one on the 0201 wont work b/c of the chrome stick. if you look close at the pics of it youll see that the boot on your stock shifter comes all the way up to the knob, whereas the white knob/chrome stick combo the boot attaches more towards the bottom of the stick. not too mention that stock knob would look like @#$% on top of that chrome stick. thread size is different too.

The two knobs have different thread sizes so they can't be swapped. The two Hurst handles, however, can be swapped. The shifter itself that comes with 391-0200 and 391-0201 is the same. The only difference is one comes with the chrome stick that uses the white Hurst ball (as well as many other Hurst knobs) and the other comes with a black handle that accepts the stock knob.

If you already have 391-0201 with the chrome stick and white ball your only options are to find someone to swap with you or buy a whole new shifter because the idiots at Hurst have no idea what the specific part number is for either one the handles.

Here's one that I found. I don't know if it's still in stock, though.

Hurst 2005-07 Mustang GT Shifter w/Black Handle

I have the Hurst shifter that fits the factory knob and have been looking for the chrome stick. If anyone that has a Hurst shifter with the chrome stick and is looking for a trade ...

I've had one for awhile and it's cheaper to order it from Hurst
than Jegs. Also the throw is alot shorter than the crome handle.
