What do you mean by "play time" and "warns you". What good is TC if there is a big time lag? Let's assume for the
moment that I want to be an idiot and risk an EOS ticket not to mention make my tires feel like square Legos
on a smooth road.

The system is a "Smart" system with sensors at all four wheels. It allows you to do a tire cleaning burn out because it reads front wheel speed and senses no loss of control. Do it too long and the warning lights come on and the warning beeps are heard. Do it twice and the car can go into limp mode. I usually do the clean with the control on and then shut it down on the way to the staging line. Although I haven't tried it - I imagine it's not as forgiving when it senses loss of traction with the front wheels at speed.

Burnouts are easy with a stock auto...i've done more than a few with no brake hold....streets are the factor...its very easy to see how that was an auto in the commercial...just be choosy where you do it...smooth concrete...bumpy roads wont...smooth does...easy....oh and traction off of course

Reading between the lines now:

If you turn TCS off at the dash, I assume you can burn all-day and it won't complain?

Does limp mode (haven't experienced that yet) go away with a recycle of the ignition or is more required?

Thanks!

Turn the TCS off and you can fry the tires to your hearts content. Limp mode is reset by cycling the ignition. It's frightening the first time it happens - especially if it does it at the track. My first encounter was because of wheel spin and the TCS on my 5spd coupe and resulted in a blazing 16 second 1/8th mile run. I was sure I broke something major. So how many miles do you have on your car? I ran the vert at the drags with 600 miles on it. It's got 12K on it now with no problems at all.

I've noticed that I can't always sqawk the tires
in my auto, even with the TCS off. Sometimes it
works at every stop but mostly ...nothing
I come to a complete stop and then punch it
I love it when it does make noise, puts that
grin on my face like I did something naughty LOL
