My 05 was built in May 2005. About the last three months at about 15000 miles, all of a sudden it started giving me trouble filling it. I tried the upside down method, tried only filling it at night when it's cooler, no luck. It got worse once you got the tank at 3/4 full. I would have to just barely squeeze the handle (at 9 different gas stations) and even then it would kick out for no reason. When you looked with a flashlight, you could actually see the fuel backing up in the filler tube. Finally after three dealers giving me three different solutions (one it was the baffles in the tank, one was the vent hose plugged, and one wanted to replace the whole tank), and none willing to fix the problem any time soon, we hoisted it up and did our own trouble shooting. After finally decifering the maze of hoses under there, we located the vent hose. It is connected into a "unique" system in the back. My hubby called it "mickey mouse piece of s--t system". Anyway he was able to drop down a housing in the rearend and disconnect the vent hose from the fuel tanks and blow air through it with an air hose and "TONS" of dust and dirt came out. He then blew air back to the fuel tanks and made gas burp out the fuel filler door. Now it fills like a dream. If anyone wants more info let me know but for now this fixed the problem in my car. By the way, the way they designed this mess, it's no wonder it is causing people trouble. Especially if like me you regularily drive on dusty roads.

I have 8K miles on my 06 that was built in July 06. I have had problems since day 1, but only in California gas stations. When i'm in Nevada, it doesnt do it. It is dusty here in Las Vegas and If it gets worse, i will remember this tread.

I don't know if I uploaded these pictures right or not. The first pic is of the "black box" that you have to get into. The second pic is the a wire harness you have to release so you can pull the box down enuf to work on it. Take the wire harness off and out of your way. You have to have something to block the black box to rest on. We used a five gallon bucket and that was just right. Now once you can see in there, along the front side there is a long big black tube. On the left side of it there is a rubber hose connected to it. There is a "u" shaped white clip that clamps the hose on. Be careful removing it as mine broke when we did it and we had to use some wire to reconnect it. Pull that hose off and using an air compressor, blow air into the hose that you just took off. When we did mine, tons of dirt came out. Now open you filler cap and blow air into the end on the big black tube. Be careful as some gas will bubble out. I'm not really sure that you would have to blow out that part but that's what we did to make sure all the system was open. I then used a 5 gallon gas can and after he hooked the hose back up, we tried filling it. Before doing this I couldn't have just "dumped" five gallons in without it overflowing. It guzzled the gas as fast as I could pour it in. So then we tried at the gas station, and it would take it as fast as I could pump it.
Remember I'm only telling you what we did to my car. I do not take any responsibility for anyone else doing this.
There are two bolts at the rear and two nuts at the front. There is a lip on the rear so when you take off the nuts and bolts you have to push the box ahead a little to get it down.

Tried the fix and worked great!!!
I created a page with details and instructions for others to follow.
I think the culpret is the filter box. Not the lines themselves.
Check it out and let me know if you people have success.
