FRPPs pins work. Many have them, I was looking at SHMs... Like the look but they don't install easily and start moving with time I've been told.... I was also told it's rice...??

I wanted them just for the old musclecar look but after watching my hood rise an inch above my fenders at 140mph I decided I needed functional ones. Standard Mr Gasket hood pins. I bought the cables seperatly
Something different but does not have cables or other items to damage the paint. Also with a locking option.
Thanks, Spectre. Those latches are so freakin' cool I want to order them immediately. WAY better than traditional hood pins. They should blend in well with my black Mustang. Although I'll bet they could be painted to match any color.
BUT first a question to the masses: Should I go with traditional hood pins to continue the retro look or go with something better, namely these flush mounted hood pins. After all, the S197 has retro styling with many many modern touches and engineering. On top of that, I've never really been a fan of the hood pin look, even back in the days.
Are they rice? They are completely functional so going from the dictionary term they are not. Opinions, please

Traditional through the hood pins have been installed on classic American muscle cars since at least they 1960's, I'll bet much longer. I don't see how they could ever be called rice. These new flush kind? Don't know. I think not because of functionality. I think it's just a better mousetrap, not rice, but I'll hear all opinions.
