Just a quick comment to those looking for ideas on performance mods. Just had the Kooks catted LT's with X-Pipe installed, mated to Flowmaster American Thunders and boy what a difference the car is, again. Unfortunately the weather was terribly hot (mid 90's) and humid (74%) so the engine was getting way to hot during the pulls, so the re-tune (A/F) was the best that could be gotten at the time. Will probably do it again after things cool down a bit around here. Anyway, I'm very pleased with the addition of the Kooks. These mustangs are something, doesn't take much to wake up untapped hps.
Hats off to the guys (Ken, Brandon & Matt) and gal (Danielle) at MD Motorsports again, for the install and great price on the Kooks package.
I highly recommend the product. Now, where did that GTO go that wanted to play the other day?????
I'll answer for R (even though I did not get a hats off... )
OR it's better than stock. Catted the cats hang about .5" below everything else under the car. It's far fwd so no biggie but go easy over curbs, especially if you're lowered....

Sorry KJ. Didn't leave you out on purpose. I'll rephrase:
Hats off to the guys (Ken, Brandon, Matt) and gal (Danielle) at MD Motorsports, Cincy, OH for the install and great price on the Kooks package. Also, a big thanks to KJ cinci, for introducing me to the Kooks and the performance they give to the ponies, along with your insight and recommendations to mods. Now if you could just fly as well as you drive....or is it the other way around...can't remember...
I guess my 20 or so 13 second stints doesn't compair with 1000s of hours flying...
I'm getting pretty good at swapping the wheels though (streets to ETs and vv.) I'm also quite proud over my burnouts! It's after that I get problems...

I was one of the first to get Kooks Long Tubes and Xpipe, it is without a doubt, a great way to go.
taking some getting used to with the Kooks. Exhaust has new sound (nice) and throttle response is much quicker than before. The one new difference that'll take some time is the fact the headers are "sucking" the exhaust better therefore, causing in slower traffic a little stumbling, bucking from the engine trying to keep up with the headers being so efficient. out on the highway, 60 mph plus, it sounds awsome and the pickup is amazing, seldom ever go out of OD and the mph increase is very quick...very strong pull in the mid range. haven't gone all out yet, will soon, need to see where it levels out at mph now.
R,
If Ken did not tune for the 3.73 gear some of the stumble might be from that as your autos shift points may be wrong...?? You might wanna ask him since he might not have known/tuned for it...?? He should also be able to tune the rest out with the tq tables etc. just tell exactly how/when it happens.
