Default Eibach Pro Kit or Sportline springs?

I've been reading alot about this subject on all the different posts. Some of you decided on the pro kit springs while others decided on the sportline springs. I'm looking to purchase lowering springs for looks and a little better handling. I know the sportline springs make you sit lower than the pro kit. This car is a daily driven machine and the ride quality is not a big deal cuz I love to feel the street.

What made you guys decide on what springs to get?

The answer boils down to...How low do you wanna go? In my case, I have the Saleen kit, which is essentially the Eibach Pro Kit. Wih my 20" wheels (which are very close to stock wheel height), I feel my car is pretty close to the right stance. As it is I have to be wary of my chin spoiler for I do scrape on dips and driveways.

Ah, but there's a point where low is too low without more mods than just springs. If I go with the Sportlines, will I need an adjustable panhard as well as camber adjusting bolts, swaybar endlinks, bumpsteer adjusters. For the meantime I'm happy with the stock 17's. Will there be a problem if I decide to with Sportlines? Is it worth the extra 1/2-3/4 inch? Thanks

Again, when I did my suspension, I went ahead and had an adjustable panhard bar installed and I did need camber adjusting bolts for the front end. I did not need swaybar endlinks, mainly because swaybars came with the kit (I presume adjusted for proper length for the drop of the kit), nor did I need bumpsteer adjusters. As for the extra 1/2 inch, that is entirely a personal thing. Yes, I do believe there is a such thing as too low. If you have a daily driver, every speed bump, driveway, dip in the road, and etc becomes a problem. Also, if too low, your tires may rub against your body. Like I said, I think I come close to having the perfect stance, what do you think?

Thank you, I am kind of proud of my girl as well.

As for the rear spoiler, that is a Legends one piece, Shelby look-alike ducktail spoiler. I think it adds to the car, you think?

That looks so sweet. What kit did you use, if you don't mind me asking? Are those 20" rims? I like the way the wheels fit the wells perfectly. I want to get them closer than stock. My GT is bone stock. It looks like a 4X4 compared to yours

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, the wheels/tires are 20"; but make note, they are virtually the same size (with tires) as your 17" stock wheels/tires. I used the Saleen Kit, I grant, the Saleen kit includes, springs (Eibach Pro Kit), struts/shocks, and front sway bar. Additionally, I added a rear sway bar and adjustable panhard bar. Oh by the way, you ride may be stock, but I like it, maybe I am partial to the black.

I think that the car has too much gap between the top of the tire and the wheel well, especially in the rear. I just want something to close up the gap. The prokit would lower it just enough. Thanks

I personally like the the lowered look. The car not only looks better, it handles better as well. I like the look of your black Stang. I would recommend lowering it. The questions just comes to how low do you want to go? I believe mine is lowered approx. 1.4" in the front and 1.8" in the rear. When I first had it lowered, I kept saying, "I can go lower", but then was convinced any lower might be too low. In my opinion, this is a great mod to do, it is inexpensive (if you go lowering springs alone) and it improves both looks and handling.

Between the Pro and Sport kit, the Pro is definately the best choice if you plan no other mods. The Sport kit will dump it low enough that geometry will (probably) be notivcebly adversely affected, even in daily driving. The Pro kit gives a nice aesthetic drop and does not cause severe geometry changes.

However, if all you are looking for is a mild drop (even a little less than the Pro kit), you might look at H&R Sport springs or the Steeda springs. These drop the car about an inch up front, and .75-1 in the rear, reducing the gap and making the car's stance great without making it obviously "lowered". Also, the rates of the H&R and Steeda springs are a little lower than the Eibach, making them a better match for the stock struts and shocks.

Hope this helps.

OK so is anyone running the Sportline springs?

This is the way I see it, running the Steeda, Saleen, Pro kit would look great with 20's but if your looking for more performance than looks and want to run an 18, I would say the Sportlines would give you that look and the 18's will fill in the fenders nicely. The Sport line drops the front 1.6 and the rear 2 inches, so the prob with sway bar end links should be a prob, it lowering the car .01 more that any other kit in the front.

Remember, even with my 20" wheels/tires, I am the same size as the stock wheels/tires., my overal diameter is 27", so the gap should be the same no matter what. I orginally wanted the Sportline, but ended up getting the Saleen (Eibach Pro) and I am please with both the looks and performance. Any lower and I would have touble gettignout of my driveway and going over speedbumps.

Yea true, I didn't even think about that, also I didn't think about how wide of a tires I am going to be running in the rear, 18x9.5 with a 305 35R18 Looks like I wont be able to run the sort lines or my rear tires will rub like crazy.

You might want to look into Tein springs made in Japan. They make high quality springs and shocks that are popular with Subaru's BMW's and such. I got the pair for $140 shipped off ebay and install was done in my driveway. They had the right drop heights for me. It seemed the Eibach Pro kit was not enough and the sport was too much.

I have the "h" springs with an advertised drop of .09" in front and 1.7" in the rear. I run 18's with 265/35 tires and the car looks perfect! Although, I would recommed getting taller tires like a 40 or so.
