Default 2007 Mustang GT shaker 500 problem....normal?

Hello,
I am a "newbie" and I have a few questions, regarding my 2007 Mustang GT. First thing I have noticed is sometimes when I start the car, the Shaker 500 (no cd's in any of the 6 slots) will start clicking and moving around like it is going to play a cd, but when I start the car back up like when I get to work or whereever, it does not do this. Anyone have their's do this, I mean is this normal or should I get it replaced? Most of the posts I have read have been other people's have been skipping cd's, or disk error, or etc. But I have never seen what mine is doing posted. I have only played a cd a couple of times, and it was a burned cd, and it did not skip or anything, but it has been doing this clicking, and moving around with no cd's whatsoever in it.

I look forward to hearing if anyone elses has done this 05-07's and if they got theirs replaced or whatever.

Thank you.

Cindy

Sounds like its looking for a cd, doesn't sound quite right.

About a month after I got my GT, when I'd start my car, the cd player would start reading whichever cd I had in there but no sound came out of the speakers. The time kept running, but nothing would happen. If I tried to skip to the next song, it would freeze. I couldn't turn it off, nor could I eject, or turn the sound up/down (no sound anyways)... nothing would work!

The only way to get it to work would be to turn off the car and open the door, turning the radio off. Leave it open for a second and then turning the car back on. Might be a load error for the radio. In either case, its done it 4 times in the year I've had the car. I want to get it replaced, but haven't taken it into the dealership yet. I'll probably get a new cd player eventually when this one craps out. I had all 6 slots taken up w/ mp3 cds, btw.

It's the best radio I've ever had, but its still a piece of sh!t.

Damn another Shaker 500 problem.....Take it back to the dealer and have them reflash the head unit. This may reset the operating parameters. If this doesn't clear it up have them replace the unit. It took my dealer 5 times replacing the unit before all the problems were worked out on my 05GT. I had hoped that the problems would have been fixed by now. Exspecially since I now have a 06GT with the Shaker 500.

Usually it will searc all 6 locations when the radio has lost all power such as after you disconnect the battery. I would try to load a cd or 2 into it and see if it continues to do it. I wouldn't take mine to the dealer more than it's absolutely necessary. You will end up with scratches and squeaks. If it does it frequently by all means bring it in but for a minor inconvenience I wouldn't.

Did you ever get the window clunk yet? This is where the window rolls down below flush and goes CLUNK. If you get it there's a procedure on how to reset the windows in the owners manual. I brought it in 3 times before I figured it out. The dealer had no clue.
