Default Clutch Problem, I Need Help 2005 Mustang GT

I have installed a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch DF611679 along with a Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel 186551 on my 05 GT in preparation for my supercharger upgrade.

The clutch was properly broken in for the first 500 miles and shifts properly in normal driving. The pedal height feels close to stock and the effort is about 15% higher than normal as expected.

THe clutch and flywheel were installed at my Ford dealer by their transmission specialist who has nearly 30 years experience.

The problem I'm encountering is that when I'm speed shifting at or near redline I can't find the next gear. It won't grind but it just hangs up.

A few people have mentioned that they have shimmed the throwout bearing with a 0.150 or 0.200 shim and the problem went away.

I also spoke with centerforce who suggested that if there was any air trapped in the throwout bearing the same result would occur.

Their suggested method of bleeding the clutch is before mating the transmission to the engine someone stick their hand in there and push in on the throwout bearing while someone bleeds it at the bleeder.

I am looking for anyone who either has a spare shim to sell me or has a dimensional drawing so I can have one made and installed before next weekend.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Have you:
1) Asked Centerforce if they sell/have the shims? I would think that throwoutbearing shims would be available at a good auto parts store or even at a transmission shop which brings me to the next point.
2) Taken it back to the Ford dealer and the transmission expert with 30 years to have him fix it? I would think he would be very fimiluar with the bleeding process and shims mentioned above.
Mind you I am no tramsmission expert but am someone who pays someone else to fix one if needed. If I found a problem with an install then I would take it back and have them fix it. You spent enough money no need to be hit up for anymore than you have to.

Good luck
