You will have to purchase either the SCT or the Diablo tuner. I would highly recommend the SCT for the Saleen application. Saleen's tune is absolute garbage. You will need 39lb injectors, 90 mm MAF and a tune to ensure your engines safety.
Was told by SALEEN that there was no other tuner that you could use on the S/C. I have a Diablo tuner now with my C&L CAI.
So you have to change the injectors to 39LB? Do you have to change the fuel pump?
Also what if you don't change to the 90mm MAF? Do you know what size the C&L MAF is?
You can use the SCT or Diablo to tune your car, besides the Saleen tune. I'm using the Diablo on my car. But you better find a damn good tuner first. A questions you can ask to find out if the tuner is any good. Ask him if he can lock the auto trans in forth gear to tune the car. If he says "NO", run and find someone else. Another question is, ask him if he can install a shift kit in the auto trans. If he says "yes", run and find someone else. There isn't a shift kit for the auto trans. You can install a torque converter and/or rebuild the trans.
1. If you use the Saleen tune, you don't have to replace the injectors or the MAF. Saleen tune sucks any ways.
2. If your going to have the car tune with SCT or Diablo, you'll need to replace the injectors to 39lb, and a 90mm MAF.

If you have the "Street" version of the C&L I believe it's 85mm.
The 39lb injector's will be good (With a good tune) to around 430-450 rwhp. Those #'s will vary depending on who you talk to.
I'll say it again, make sure you get with a tuner who has worked with the S197. If you can't find one (like me) in your area, call JDM. There "canned" tune is soooo much better than what you will get from Saleen or from a tuner who knows nothing about these cars.
So the SALEEN cars that leave there with a S/C have there tune and stock everything else.
When you had your tunned by this other place why did you have to go to the 39Lb inject. and the 90mm?
What kind of HP are you getting to the rear wheels with the new tune?
Question, do you have a picture of the engine with the SC installed. I was wanting to see how they did the S/C and the alternator pully area?
1. The 39 lb injectors are to send more fuel to the motor. Your motor my lack fuel and run lean and you don't want that. The Saleen tune runs lean. Most people will install a CAI (cold air intake) which sends more air to the motor. The 90mm MAF will be needed to help control the air. If you don't get the items now, you will later.
2. When my car was first tuned, I was putting 328hp to the wheels and that's with the Saleen S/C. Then I had it tuned by another person who knew what he was doing and he got me to 354hp/350tq. It's all in the tune to keep your car running good.
Since then I have changed the 4lb pulley to a 10lb pulley and now I'm putting 410hp to the wheels.
Now, if your going to s/c your car, think about the Kenny Bell. They have a new 2.6 unit that just came out and the KB (I think) is a better unit to the Saleen. Plus it comes with everything you need to get your car running (injectors, maf, CAI). I have the Saleen s/c now, bur when I can afford it I will change it to the KB. I know another person who did this also.
