Has any installed one of these SALEEN S/C on there 2005/07 GT or do you have one on your car? How do you like the response and also how bad did it kill your gas mileage?
Thanks Phil

Gas mileage did not change for me or can change very little if you drive sensibly...
Get on it and the fuel gauge nose dives to empty in a hurry!!!
But we all know that when you supercharge, it is hard not to nail the gas pedal once in a while...
Dave
+1.
Last Thursday I picked up my car from my tuner (ST Motorsports) which is 120 miles from my house. On the way home the miles per gallon was reading 21, but if I put my foot into it, it would drop down to 19 or 20.
discofan is correct on what he said.
But if you get a S/C, you don't worry about the gas, just expect to make a lot of fill ups.
Hey Guys, I just got my Saleen Supercharger installed on my 06 GT - Power is great - Dynoed at 355 hp to the wheels.
Gas mileage on the other hand took a big hit - 14.5 or so on average, although I'll agree with Discofan that it's easy to get on it now and again. I should point out that I've had some issues with the MAF and EVAP systems. Looking into those this week.

Thats about the same HP I had with the stock pulley (354hp/350tq). Who did your tune?
You should get a 90mm Lighting MAF, I've had no problems with it. What's a EVAP system? I thinking it's a CAI??
After the car breaks in some the gas mileage should get better, as long as you keep your foot out of it and good luck with that. LOL
If it didn't show already, I don't know toooo much about cars. I got a P0442 code today, which is an 'evaporative emission control system leak (small leak)'. I think EVAP is short for that whole thing. Something to do with burning up the fumes from the fuel.
I had all the work done at Apex Motorsports in Santa Clara, CA. They had to ship the computer off to get tuned at Saleen.
Thanks for the reco on the 90mm MAF - I'll check that out.

You know when a shop that tunes car has to send the computer to Saleen for the tune, it tells me your at the wrong shop. What type of work have you done? It sounds to me that it's in your tune????
If your going to get the Saleen tune use your stock MAF and injectors. BTW, the Saleen tune runs LEAN. Find a good tuner to tune your car. Everything is all in the tune.
I am about to buy an '07 and plan to add a supercharger. I am leaning towards Saleen but wanted to ask why Saleen and not Roush, Vortech, ProCharger or some of the other leaders?
Also, regarding suspension - should I just go with the Ford Racing upgrade or what about Eibach?
Thanks - I'm sure you all looked into this as well!?!?!?

Dear Jeffpacy,
As you know, the Saleen and Roush superchargers are different than the Vortech and Procharger in that the first two are considered "roots type or screw type" superchargers...
The Vortech and Procharger are "centrifical types" which means that they make power in the higher RPM range...
The Saleen and Roush make power from the lower RPM range through the higher ranges...
Each has its benefits!!!
Why Saleen over Roush??? Because I heard that the Roush are hard to get whereas the Saleen can be purchased easily...
Also I heard that the Vortech and Procharger are readily available too so you will not have a problem purchasing either of them...
Vortech and Prochargers run less in price than the others...
Its a simple choice as to which one you can afford and which one will give you the best performance for what you want to do with your car...
I run a Saleen w/3.6 pulley, 39# injectors and a 90MM MAF and am very happy with its output...
Discofan is right - Get a good tuner. I Love my saleen. Had it tuned where I like my power the most, low-mid range. I don't drag race so the hell with the high end for me. Ford racing packages - not worth it for the $$

jeffpacy, I have the Saleen blower now, but if I could do it over again I would go with the KB blower. It comes with everything you need to get it running. The injectors, MAF and a tune which is very good. My tuner installed the KB on his car and was putting 440hp to the wheels right after the install. My friend has a KB also and I can feel the difference between the KB and the Saleen as far as power.
Another thing, if you don't have a real good tuner in your area, then you'll have to do mail order tunes. The only one that would be the better one to go to would be JDM in NJ for the Saleen tune.
discofan, is correct "IT'S ALL IN THE TUNE"....
I'll send you a PM also to give you more information to read.
If you purchase a SALEEN you have to send your PCM to them or buy a PCM and have it tunned. I don't think they give out the info for a tuner, but maybe wrong.
