Default Anyone have clutch noise after installing 4:10 gears?

About 3 weeks after I had 4:10 FRPP gears installed on my 06 GT, a very noisey sound was coming from the rear end when making a slow circle or sharp turn. The dealers service tech said it was coming from the clutches in the gear box and not normal. He also said it occurs only during turning since the rear wheels are turning at a different speed and the clutches are not doing what they are supposed to do. I brought it back to the tuner shop that did the work and they could not find any damaged or mis-alligned parts but they did change out the royal purple fluid I had requested and used a regular gear oil with an additive which cured the problem so far. Occaisonally I still hear the noise slightly when turning but no too bad. Have any of you with new gears also heard this noise while turning and what did you do?

I have read that from somewhere else, not sure what caused it. I will check and see what was the problem.

Unhappy You may have a problem getting the dealer to do the TSB.

By changing to the 4.10 gears, you may have voided your warranty and the dealer may therefore decline to perform the TSB for free. I hope that is not the case, but don't be surprised if it happens.

I just had the dealer put 4.10s in mine. He, of course, used the Ford fluids. So far there has been no noise. The rear end is smooth and quiet.

When i had my clutch packs replaced, they added the friction modifier and used the ford fluid....its super quiet now! I'm glad i didnt change my gears because the dealer said they would void it.
