Default Dimmer wire in factory radio harness...

Does anyone know which wire this is?

I put in a Pioneer HU and the kit only came with one harness adaptor for the main harness. As anyone who has replaced their HU knows, there are two harnesses coming out of the back of the factory radio. The dimmer wire on the adaptor is not correct and I can't find a wiring diagram that lists which wire is the dimmer wire. I have the feeling that it is probably part of the second harness and will require another splice.

Has anyone been there and done that that could help me out before I butcher something?

Do you know the connector number you are working from?

Don't mean to sound like a dummy, but I don't understand your question. What do you mean by "which connector"? Which connector between the two factory harnesses or which pin in particular?

Default Don't think there is a dimmer wire

I looked at all three connectors in the wiring diagram I have. There isn't a dimmer wire listed. I suspect that the radio gets this information from the Module Communications Network. Probably some kind of digital information. This suspicion is born out by my testing the dimmer dial. All lights dim smoothly, but the radio tends to jump between settings. This info is passed on pins 15 & 16 of the 16 pin C290A connector.

Default Try this wire

If you want a dimmer wire, try tapping into a light blue with red stripe wire that is in the harness just above the passenger's left foot. It is a small bundle that runs along the firewall. That wire goes to the shifter console in my automatic. It is a bulb, and not a L.E.D., according to my wiring diagram.
