Default Procharger P-ISC kit or PipeLine Intercooled Kit?

Sometime mid week I’m either going to be ordering a ProCharger kit or the PipeLine kit. I’ve researched both pretty extensively and ProCharger is looking to be the better option due to quite a few people having the kit installed already but the PipeLine is growing on me.

Looking for opinions on both kits…

Both run for around 5,500$ and are complete packages.

Several guys are running the Powerhouse Pipeline with great success. One V6 and one V8 (rygenstormlocke and fin1) making huge power. I'm sure both would give you a thumbs up.

I've had the procharger and switched over to the PowerHouse turbo and never looked back.

The ATI made all of it's power up high which was close to 6500rpm unlike the turbo which hits full boost below 3000rpm. Not to mention I had head-unit leaking issues that required ATI to replace it and it still leaked like a sieve. I had to clean oil out of the intercooler every few months and top off the oil in the head-unit.

As for the turbo, it's outstanding in power, design and maintenance. My higher power level is based on my rebuilt block & heads, but I know others running less boost on stock blocks with amazing results (including Rygen). Also, the support from Mike & Steve @ PH is night and day compared to ATI (which was difficult).

Good luck in your decision.

Turbo! They work GREAT on these cars. I have a Vortech SC myself but am thinking turbo now... not to mention the $1,400 I coulda saved on LT headers...

just out of curiosity, what kind of low boost superchargers are people using these days. obviously some 8-12lbs of boost is a lot of a stock block and internals. whats a good bet for something like 5-6lbs of boost...or atleast some sort of FI that u could get on nicely and not have to worry about internals?

8-9lbs seems to be the stock block norm.

I didn't expect to hear so much back on the Powerhouse turbo kit. There isn't a lot of information on it out there. I've yet to even come across dyno sheets of a V8 kitted one.

What kind of hp could you put out with 8-9lbs's? and what kind of wear would the vortech have on a stock engine KJ? would you reccomend any engine internal upgrades? i think i would like to go with the vortech, but im willing to spend another $1,000 on internals just to be safe, so what internals should i get with that money?

now back to the topic. ive actually only heard of the powerhouse. i talked to a guy that had one in his car and he said he was happy with it.and he didnt have any mods but exhaust. so that would be my choice.

Regarding ingternals I don't think there is anything you can do for $1,000 if you're not a builder yourself...?? Parts alone to build a forged S197 block is double that. Then add build/balancing, misc. parts (main, head bolts/studs, etc.) again adding up to a couple of grand...

If I had the time and the money I'd go with the Powerhouse set up but upgrade the Turbo to a 76 mm. unit! As most of you know I have the built motor, heads and most of the drivtrain upgrades but would need to redo my exhaust, OR shorties probably, or custom fab the Kooks to turn fwd at the colectors...??

Have not seen one. Maybe Mike at Powerhouse have one he could send you? The curve should be typical turbo, straight line from 2,800 RPM all the way up? It can also be pretty much never ending do to the posibilities regarding turbo sizes and wastegates available...
Here is the kit (if the website works now?) http://powerhouse411.com/catalog/ind...products_id=50

Here is a picture of my dyno tune with the PowerHouse turbo. I am currently running 10.5 lbs of boost. My tune was done at PowerHouse on a Mustang dyno. The final numbers were 466rwtq and 451rwhp. People say there is a 12% difference from a Mustang Dyno to a Dynojet so if you do the math it is very fast.

I also switched from a supercharger just as FIN1 did. I had a twin screw but the turbo is so much better.

I work at the largest Ford dealership in Maryland- having a lot of friends in service allows me some benifets

BTW, Front Royal? I went to Randolph Macon Academy! Which means you probably hate me and everything I stand for, haha.
