My passenger floor board has been getting wet for a while. I just got back from the dealer and they found the problem to be with the cowl. They had the car for 4 days and had to seal it twice after the first water test shower still showed a leak. Just an update for all of those with the drip

Does this problem seem to be strictly on the 05's or what? I bought my 05 in january and it was built april/may time frame and I havent had a single problem with any water leaks and I live up here in the pacific northwest where it rains ALL THE TIME!!! The car still smells like brand new but I am just curious about this problem seeing as how my car is outside unfortunatlly.
You'll get them very soon, stangx2. lol. I've been wondering why my car smells like a nasty wet towel for so long. A few weeks ago I was driving in the rain, and I felt a big, cold drop of water fall on my foot. Also, I keep having some sort of electrical issue where my car starts to idle very low and then it shuts off. Some days it does it, some days it doesn't do it. I think it has something to do with the leak. I am going to fix it myself today, seeing how Ford doesn't want to do anything for me. My warranty expired due to the mileage. I took a chance buying this car. I love it to death, but Ford ****** up so much that I am having to fix a lot of stuff. Also, my harmonic balancer is wobbling like crazy and making squeaking noises. I treat this car like a baby, but since ford didn't build the car right, I'm now taking care of a retarded baby. Yay for me. **** Ford.

I wouldn't blame Ford for he HB problem since you replaced the crank pulley.
I drove home in the rain one night and next day noticed wet carpet on front passenger side, it appeared to be coming down behind the rightside kickpanel by fusebox. Went to the dealer and they replaced the windshield due to a bad seal from the factory, problem fixed.

That right side leak is very common. Many have also had to have the smart junction box replaced as a result.
GOOD LUCK TRYING TO SUE FORD OR GETTING A LEMON LAW CASE.... JAJAJA I HAVE SEEN IT SO MANY TIMES THROUGH MY DEALERSHIP... NOT MANY PEOPLE SUCCEED. ANY WAYS THERE IS A TSB 7-14-6 TAKE THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LET THEM FIX IT FOR YOU
Some 2005-2008 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a difficult to diagnose water leak in the front floor area. This may be caused by loose grommets and/or sealer skips around the cowl area, loose A-pillar window weather stripping retainer, misaligned body harness grommet through the firewall, or misaligned body harness grommet from the passenger door.
THERE GO GET YOUR CAR FIXED...
Did a 450 mile cruise with the New England Rally club and my wife almost drowned!
Rained the whole cruise and she was wondering why she couldn't keep her feet dry.
Calling dealer for appointment today.

Driving in the rain for the first time in months last week and the power windows start dropping by themselves. Turns out there is a ton of water in the junction box on the passenger side.
Here is the TSB to get this diagnosed and fixed.

Here is what worked for me. Tell your dealership that you will schedule a weekly service appointment until the problem is resolved. That is not a joke. Try it. Call the Ford customer relationship center and outline your problem. They will document everything you tell them. Make sure you have your VIN handy. Repeatedly ask your dealership to have an engineer dispatched to evaluate your problem. Most importantly, DO NOT allow yourself to be convinced by anyone that this is normal! It's not! Stay on message. That this is a problem and you demand, not ask, demand that it be resolved. Ford is not doing well these days and is more willing to work with you to resolve your displeasure. Good luck!
Yeah I did all that. Then they said they wouldn't work on it any more. Then we went to the Lemon Law and Ford sent a lawyer and the Ford field rep told them is twas normal and they have no record of consumer complaints of mustangs leaking. So the board just took Ford's word for it and denied the claim.
GET A LAWYER AND TRY TO GET A CLASS ACTION SUIT GOING. As soon as I see a class action suit I will join it if my car is eligible. Do not even bother going to the lemon law thing without a lawyer because they simple will not take you seriously and will brush you off.
