I just dropped off my TSB plagued (but still loved) pony at the dealer. I have not driven it in 2 weeks and the battery was 100% DEAD. I remembered reading this post last week and decided to check the passenger footwell and yep the wires in the kick panel are soaking wet. The dealer told me they had a car in last week with the same problem and that the warranty did not cover it!!! I have a 3 year extended warranty and they are gonna try and tell me that this isnt covered? This is not a wear and tear problem. It is a bad design problem that can lead to serious problems down the road as well as kill any resale value you will hope to get. I have not argued yet as it is the Holidays and I had to get back to my family but I will be in there Monday. Has anybody had this fixed under warranty? The crazy thing is I dont drive the car in the rain and it sits under a car cover. So this water is from onths ago which was the last and only 3rd time I ever drove it in the rain or from me washing it. This is my 4th and 5th TSB that needs to be fixed and yes Im pissed. I have no electrical gremlins yet but Im sure they cant be too far off. Im with the guy above who says a class action lawsuit is the way to go. My other car is a POS 10 year old Mitsubishi with 170,000 miles on it and it needs almost 0 maintenance. My
Stang is a driven once in a while, not really driven in the rain, covered spoiled brat and its nothing but TSB's. I mean I love Mustangs but really dont care for other Fords except for F150's and this just shows that they are dropping the ball on one of thier better vehicles. Im trying to find a number to call Ford directly as this is not just an annoying problem but a safety issue. Alls I need is the airbag to go off while driving down the road.(A friends Camry got wet after driving through too deep of water and the airbag went off the next day while she was driving). Im highly upset right now and for the first time ever have considered buying the new Camaro when it debuts this spring. This is my 3rd Mustang and may be my last.
