Default motive gears now ford performance gears?

I ordered from rmpoutlet.com 3.73 ford racing gears for my 07 mustang gt. I got the box today and it said motive gear with no ford logo or part # anywhere. I called rpmoutlet sure that they made a mistake since the motive gear is 149 and the one I bought was 199. They said that motive gear and ford racing gear is now the same thing. They wouldnt give me a straight answer on the 50 dollar price difference. He said that motive actually makes the ford racing gears but they just come in a ford box. I have read some posts on here saying that the motives whine and that is the sole reason I bought the ford gear over the motive. Is what this guy said true or some rpmoutlet bs?

Thanks for your help

You may notice that Ford has an A or M part number suffix for some of its gear sets. My 4.10 set is part number M-4209-G410A. The 410 after the G is the gear ratio. The A after the 410 means it was manufactured by Visteon, and is the FRPP gear set that is desired. An M at the end means it was manufactured by Motive. So in a sense RPMOutlet isn't lying when they say the Motive gear is what FRPP sells. There is no explanation for the $50 difference, however. I was told by a FRPP tech that production of the Visteon gears will stop. That was back in May.

Interesting... My FRPPs say 'Made in USA' on the box whereas all Motive Gear products are made in South Korea.

As far as I know, Motive makes the vast majority of the FRPP gearsets. So in essence, if you have FRPP gears, you have Motives.

So how is it FRPPs don't whine? Everyone says motive gears whine, and if FRPP is actually motive, why wouldn't they whine? Something fishy going on here...

They both can whine. It all depends on the setup. If you have a sharp gear guy he can setup either so they don't whine.

Gear whine can be gears but most likely it is gear installation - I have motives in my rear end and they whine at certain speeds and stop - it has been progressively going away so prob needed to be worked in - gear whine actually sounds kinda cool to me - im like hell yeah time tp punch it and lose all traction - lmao!

What do they sound like? Is it a intolerable sound like exhaust drone? Or does it just happen on acceleration?

it happens on acceleration in a certain mph range (at least on my car) and it sounds like a dull hum in my car
