Default Lots of rattle coming from my '06 GT vert

There's an awful rattling sound coming from near the trunk area of my S197 vert when I go over a medium bump or larger. I've checked the spare tire, checked for a loose license plate and holder, checked for a loose spoiler, but nothing is loose. It sounds like the rattles are coming from the area of trunk closest to the back seat. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it already? It's starting to get on my nerves.

does it happen to sound like a chunk of metal rolling around back there? My 89 makes that sound when I go over bumps unevenly (like diagonally over a speed bump) Im not sure what it is yet but Im planning on dumping the exhaust behind my mufflers and getting rid of the pipes over my rear axle. that might eliminate the sound.

Put your car up on jackstands (on the axle) and crawl underneath. Look where the overaxle pipe crosses above the axle (check both sides). On my car, the overaxle pipe was too close to the spare tire well and would hit when I went over a good sized bump. Fix: loosen the band clamp on your mufflers and the band clamp on the H pipe where it meeds the overaxle pipe (midway under the car). Rotate the overaxle pipe until you have sufficient clearance. Retighten everything.

My rattle was the second driverside exhaust hanger. Metal to metal contact between hanger bracket and hanger rod.

I had a nasty rattle after I installed aftermarket mufflers. I would only start after the exhaust warmed up. The noise was from the driver side front muffler mount. I couldn't move it any farther away than about 3/8". The exhaust would heat up and expand and cause it to rattle. Removed the muffler and bent an offset in the rod a little bit. Worked like a charm. The passenger side muffler mounts already had enough clearance because they were made with an offset to them.
