Default Functional Hoods?

First off, I just wanted to say I have nothing against the bolt on hood scoops, but it just isnt my style. I do love the look of some scoops, but they arent functional. I was wondering this... besides the Seibon C/F and California Dream hoods (both of which I like), are there any other functional hoods with a scoop on them?

Even if there are, is it possible to create a functional hood in such a way to keep water/dirt from flowing into the engine bay? I love the look of the B9 and M1 hood/scoop combo, but it just seems too 'fake' for me if it isnt truly functional. Any help?

Btw, here's the link for the hoods I was talking about...

I have the Cervinis Ram Air # 1171. It is functional to the degree that it provides air into the engine bay. No way to make it a direct ram air into the intake. It does however allow water etc. into the engine bay but I haven't found it much of a problem. Whatever makes it's way in is easily wiped down. I think it is one mean looking hood though!

I have actually... I really didnt like the look of it. It looked like it had too many edges and angles on it for my tastes.

Don't quote me on this, but I think I've seen something very similar to the Cali Dream Hood that will be available from factory on the '08 models. It was only a picture and didn't say anything about functional or not. Might be worth waiting for.

Hmm, interesting. I havent seen a picture of the 08 yet, but it may be worth the wait. PTLM, I'm the same way. I havent seen anything that really gets me going, and I know as soon as I buy a CD hood something will come out. Anyone know if its possible to make a functional hood as mentioned in my first post?

Yup, I've actually looked at that one.. .I'm not such a big fan of the double nostril look. I wish I could find something out there with a Boss style functional hood...

Anybody know of any Boss style hoods which are functional? Is it possible to mate both a scoop and hood into a functional hood with some modification?

Ok, so here is another question..... I've always loved the look of shaker hoods, but I know that they dont offer much for a performance gain. Are you able to use a shaker hood as well as a C & L cold air intake, aftermarket throttle body, etc?

Would require some fabrication to use with an open cone system but would probably be doable. Throttle body would have no impact.

I'm a bit fuzzy on how the shaker truly works, so I'm sorry for my ignorance. Why would fabrication be needed and how intensive would it be?

There is a series of plastic tubes that run from the shaker along the firewall to the air box. In a stock setup you have to cut a 3" hole in the airbox to hook everything up. To install with an open cone would be similar except you'd be cutting the hole in your heat shield vice the air box.
