Guess I need a math lesson or two. Honestly I don't see why you wouldn't be able to crack into a high 12 avg with the two mods. Anyway, by mid next summer you'll probably be there just on experience alone!

Well it looks like my worst fears have been realized. Took the pump off and it appears that the shaft is rotating slightly out of round either as a result of a bad bearing or it damaged the bearing. Either way, the old stocker pump and U/D pulley is back on and I'll be sending the pump back to the mfg. I think I'll probably just let the new one sit in the box until spring since I hate cold weather mods!

Just noise. Temps were fine. It may have lasted for another 50k, I don't know. Better safe than sorry. Shipping it off today.

Stock is 101" I believe. Not sure how the S/C factors into the belt size but it's going to be longer than the stocker.

I had less than 7k when it started to go. New one is in the box and ready for install next week.

the EH20 pump is the way to go. if your worried about failure, wire in a buzzer and place it inside the car. if the pump fails, the buzzer goes off and you shut the car off immediately, thus preventing any chance of overheating. to test the buzzer, pull the fuse for the water pump and listen for the buzzer. i plan to add this to my car this winter. Also carry a spare relay in the car as well. its cheap and small and can save you in a time of need.

As for being able to drive the car if you throw a belt with an S/C. you can do it but for extremely short distances. remember with all the electronics in the car running off the battery, if the belt goes, there is no alternator recharging the battery and it will die very quickly. i threw my belt at about the 1/8 mile mark on the track one night and before i made it the final 1/8 mile the battery light was on.

I started to hear a metallic grinding. From what I could tell, the shaft was manufactured improperly or damaged during assembly.

Just turn the ign key to on w/o starting. You can now listen to the water pump.
