Default No Rear Defroster!!!

So we finally get the BIG?? ice storm in the Dallas/FortWorth area and I find out my rear window defroster is not working. You press the switch, the indicator light comes on momentarily and then goes out. I had to borrow someone's scraper.

Anyone had problems with their defroster???

When i lived in CA there was always humidity (dew) on my car when its a cold morning and the windows are fogged up so i always used my rear defroster to see out of it, then i used the A/C for the front and that works good too..

Any Suggestions? My defroster also broke, I have a convertible GT

Hi guys. I am a new member.
Last year I bought a 2005 mustang GT convertible and in november time frame, I noticed the defroster was not working. What seemed to have happed is that from the top going up and down, the wire came off the hook that attached to the glass. I took it to the dealer, they tried to fix it twice, but with no success. So, today, I still do not have a working defroster. The dealer told me that the glass alone cannot be replaced, so I will have to replace the top...and that $2K or more. Have you heard of other 2005+ convertibles having similar issues.
Also, last month, the engine light came off. It seems like the most possible code may be coming from the fuel sending unit (which I was told could happen from overfilling the tank). Any advice how I can get the codes cleared short of taking it to the dealer and getting ripped off for having to replace the unit!

I love my GT. I upgraded from a 4 cyl Mazda 3 to 8 cyl GT...what a difference. I love it, but these little things that keep happening are spoiling the mood. I am getting the feeling the car was build for performance, but also with cheaper materials to keep it more affordable.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much.

mr
