Thumbs down Just happened to me on the first day with my new 2005

First day after picing up my 2005 convertible and took out my new baby to go to the gym and the parking brake stuck on the way home. This thread is helpful so I know what the service department is supposed to do. I expect they will have to pick it up because driving it with brakes locked is a BAD idea! Car still has balance of factory warranty but also I bought the extended premium so I don't have to think about it.
Talking about what they "should" do for you reminded me of the head gasket problem on my 95 V6 3.8. This was an epidemic problem for Ford so they extended the warranty to 7 years or 100,000 miles. I don't drive a lot so the problem showed up at 42,000 miles but it had been 7 years and 3 months since delivery. Believe it or not no one budged, even the nice folks in Michigan. They felt they had already "gone the extra mile". I couldn't even get them to work with me on this problem and give me a voucher for a future Ford or SOMETHING. Ended up paying $1,000 before I was done. This is why I went with the extended warranty on my 2005.

Glad the forum was able to help you out. If you release the brake there's a chance it will release if the temps climb.

Default You wer right

As the heated wheels did their job, the brakes released. I only drove it about one mile home with the brakes stuck so I don't think I could have damaged the brakes but at least I can now use the car (minus the emergency brake) until it gets fixed.
Yes the forum helped me a lot in quickly figuring out what was wrong. Thanks a million!

Good thing!

Many of us do burnouts holding the brake pedal down just hard enough so the front wheels 'lock' and the rears spins so I doubt you did bad damage on your drive home unless it got too hot? Ford can check that out.

My 06 did it twice cause it sat out in cold weather for an extended period of time i noticed it cause when i had the clutch in the car wouldnt roll back and the emergency brake handle had slack in it after i drove about a 1/4 of a mile everything went back to normal should i even bother fixing it i have a warranty but i dont want to spend all day sitting at the ford dealer unless its an important issue.

It is an important issue. Not fixing it will eventually destroy the rear brake pads and rotors. It's a simple fix, and doesn't take much time to perform. All they do is replace the parking brake cables.
