First day after picing up my 2005 convertible and took out my new baby to go to the gym and the parking brake stuck on the way home. This thread is helpful so I know what the service department is supposed to do. I expect they will have to pick it up because driving it with brakes locked is a BAD idea!

Car still has balance of factory warranty but also I bought the extended premium so I don't have to think about it.
Talking about what they "should" do for you reminded me of the head gasket problem on my 95 V6 3.8. This was an epidemic problem for Ford so they extended the warranty to 7 years or 100,000 miles. I don't drive a lot so the problem showed up at 42,000 miles but it had been 7 years and 3 months since delivery. Believe it or not no one budged, even the nice folks in Michigan. They felt they had already "gone the extra mile". I couldn't even get them to work with me on this problem and give me a voucher for a future Ford or SOMETHING. Ended up paying $1,000 before I was done.

This is why I went with the extended warranty on my 2005.
