I was under the car today (2006 GT) and noticed a FLAT area running about 3-4 inches in length on the BOTTOM of the right side factory exhaust pipe. Its in the area right ABOVE the suspension and about 2 feet forward of the muffler. The left side is perfectly round. I have not hit any thing nor bottomed out. Is this flat area on your car too? If so, why? This area is obviously not mandrel bent as the left side and I am thinking it could cause a slight restriction in the flow.
I just called to order this and they say its been on back order for 2 months!!!!!!!!! Where else can I buy a set right away??
Wow! That's the only one I've seen so far and I believe only rpmoutlet carries the Motoblue stuff. I checked out www.pypesexhaust.com but it doesn't look like they make one.

I just got off the phone with these people and he was very helpful. Get this, he said the factory pipes in that area ARE stainless and I would be wasting money to get anything else. He said like you did that the flat spot is for clearance and that they have 2 500hp 2005 cars with the OEM pipes!!

Ummm... 2.5" stainless pipes have been the factory standard since the S197 came out in 2004.

Hmmm... Not interested in making a sale I guess. They entire exhaust (minus the manifold) is SS. Maybe the flat spot isn't that big a deal.
I don't believe it matters one iota. I know several guys well in excess of 600rwhp with the stock pipes.

Motoblue claims 5+ hp gain with their overaxle kit. I'm sorry but I find that hard to believe just from eliminating the stock flat spot in that one pipe. Just my opinion!

I agree 100% with your opinion!! Plus, if the factory made this for clearance, then how can an aftermarket product that is not flat really work right?
