Default Do Intercooler Coolant Temps Ever Get High? A Wasted Gauge?

I installed a coolant temperature gauge for my intercooler today. So I went for a drive expecting it to climb as the car warmed up. After 20 miles it hadn't moved. When I got home I felt the intercooler coolant and it was ice cold. Great news for my supercharger, but did I buy a useless gauge. Does the coolant ever get hot?

If you look at some of the graphs in this post by Jerry Wrobleski you will see that the temp will only rise around 20 degrees from idle to redline. You will also notice a 24*F temp difference in starting temps with a heat soaked engine.
The usefulness of this gauge as is the case with most gauges is when something goes wrong such as a coolant leak or a pump failure.

Thanks, thump_rrr, I just wish it would get over 100* once so I know it's working.

It will rise when you see 90 degrees outside and you been boosting for about 30 seconds. It will rise then you will be bothered how you can keep the temperature down when its hot outside. lol
