That should put you up there, there was no good cams avail back then so I had pretty much all except that and e-h2o... UDPs, CAI, P&P heads, , CMDPs, LT's (catted then), LW FW, LW DS... and 10's of custom dyno tunes... so going OR, adding a e-h2o and cams maybe 380? What then...?? I think with one of them 95 mill CAIs, a TB and manifold (when they come out) very close to (or above?) 400 is doable...?? Maybe...??? I know how hard that was with the 4V 4.6 so I'm still scheptical... will the VT help or hinder...??

You do what you've listed above and you'll be pushing 350 rwhp. I'm at 347 now with a similar setup.

Thanks for all the great posts. I don't want to set a goal for something that eventually will point me toward a power adder anyway. I am also looking at supercharging or turbocharging. Seems like 350 rwhp is an attainable goal. What if I were to supercharge after reaching this goal? Will I need to update engine internals?

Near future mods:
JBA long tubes, off-road h, C&L Racer intake with Bamachip tunes are on the way. Looking to install this weekend.

No NEED to forge before FI but stay under 450 RWHP with a GOOD SAFE tune! If you think you'll find yourself wanting more you can try it, drive it and maybe you'll be fine. Or you can be proactive and throw in a built SB same time as the blower goes on to safe time and money on install.

With the LT's you pretty much have decided on a SC or losing some money going TC. Also the C&L is not compatible with most SC's, does it fit with the Saleen and/or Roush?

Now going with a SC you may not wanna spend money on UDPs...?? Also if you go with a twin or rooths you may not want to spend money on CMDPs... but you may wanna get a TB...

Sigh... so many combo's... I'd go all out NA and then IF I decide I want to go blown take it from there... you'll always get some $$ back from selling used parts... Remember to save your stock pulleys and 'headers' incase you go SCed or TCed...

Why couldn't one add a nitrous shot? Wouldn't that be considered naturally aspired or is it considered something else?

Just asking...

It's borderline but is technically a form of forced induction.

Not really forced induction... but definitely considered a power adder.

I guess you're right. Not really adding more air, just enriching the existing air.

In short: NOS is not NA... Just ask at a race if you can joint the NA class with the spray...

Mine made 396 hp & 426 tq and it is a very expensive undertaking. Mine has a custom built Livernois long block with stage 3 cams, 308ci, ported heads etc. The total cost was about 21k without install so I would assume that if you spend another $54 per HP you can make the 400 rwhp. Buy a super charger or Helion system which will do it for $5k to 6k. I just purchased a Helion in hopes of breaking the 600 rwhp with my setup.

What compression ratio? If you went higher, will it still work with the turbo?

That puts you out of the 'contention' but it proves how hard the 400 RWHP goal is!!

You should EASILY get through the 600 mark... what size Helion? I'm thinking 800 with the right size...??

I don't want to beat a dead horse here but I have kooks headers with cats, BBK 62 TB, and delete plates but havent had time to put them on yet. I already have the C&L cold air intake with Diablo tune. I really am not sure if I want to go the S/C route because of the issue of taking the chance of blowing the stock motor to pieces so I really would like to just get the most out of my N/A motor without going bankrupt. I have read through this thread and realize about 350rwhp is all I can reasonably hope for without S/C or T/C. There is only one other mod I am thinking of doing anytime soon and that is going with a cam. What is your recommendation as to brand and size? Part number? And if I do go with the cam along with the other mods I havent got on the car yet, will any of these be a negative if I do decide to S/C? I know the C&L will have to go but anything else? I only drive the car when the weather is nice and when I just want to have fun so it doesnt have to be really mild manored on the street but if I did decide to take a 300 mile trip I would like to be able to do that without problems.
