I have an SCT XCalibrator 2 OBD-II Flash Tool that I purchased for my 2005 MUstnag GT back in August 2005. I sold my 2005 Mustang GT and I set the vehicle back to stock prior to selling. Now I would like to sell the SCT X-Cal2. I would like to know what needs to be done in order for it to be used on another vehicle. It is set up for 3 custom tunes, 87, 89 & 93 octane.
I was just told by the store where I purchased that as long it was returned to stock, any dealer can email you new files for any of the supported vehicles.
I have an SCT XCal2 too (Bamachips). Your tuner can write new tunes and email them to you. You can erase the old info on the device and download the new tunes for your new vehicle.

when you buy these, do they come blank and then you have to buy tunes for them or are they like the predators that will have three tunes in it right off the bat?

The SCT will come with tunes in it. That is why it is a good idea to buy the SCT unit from a tuner (person) favored on this board. You will get tunes written by that tuner (person). I didn't know any better when I bought my SCT from an unknown, and ended up writting to Doug at BamaChips to get the tune that I wanted for my car. I threw out the tunes that came with the SCT when I bought it.
