Well yea... ppl make up to 1000 RWHP using them with FI so they can't be all bad... but NA they may really help towards that magical 400 RWHP mark...?? ALso FI it would be interesting to see if the gain is a percentage... 40 RWHP is about 15%... so for me that would be 80-90 RWHP... if the blower can keep up and fill it plus it never works that way...

I am surprised that there isn't an aftermarket intake manifold out already, it has been almost 3 years.

Kinda tells you Ford did a pretty good job... All the low-hanging-fruit was plucked...
Which makes me wounder about claims of a 40HP increase with this new one that is suppose to be coming out.

Hmm, I dunno about that. I think a plenum is a secondary mod after you do some other things (lotsa bolt-ons or forced induction). I think they will indeed show some pretty good gains after looking at the stocker. They are just waiting for more demand from peeps who have done the other stuff first. It's too early yet.

Plenum is generally only modded by the N/A guys who have been screaming for it since day 1... For FAST to come up and hype as they did and then back off indicates that they could not deliver the goods when compared to stock +CMCV delete. I don't think they failed for lack of trying...
All indication from the above, turbo, centri blowers etc... is that the intake just isn't a limitation until you start getting up there in HP (above 800). The TB is, but the GT500/V10 TB goes on and the restriction goes away...

Hmm, I guess I can't speak about forced induction S197's, but that is precisely what I meant about it being too early for the intake... it's only useful for peeps who have done a bunch of other stuff; most of whom have resorted to forced induction or stroker kits or high rev forged internals and heads.
Regarding the TB, I spoke to multiple tuners and they said they did nothing, but then again, I asked them in reference to a car with a basic set of mods and not FI. Good to know...
Lots of threads on this. In a nutshell, the plates remove the electronically controlled charge motion runner controls allowing the engine to breathe better at all RPMs.
