I wonder if and when Edelbrock makes a manifold for the 4.6 he will include the delete plates or have it "built in" ???

I've seen nothing on the horizon from Edelbrock. The only aftermarket intake (that was supposed to be out already) is the one by FAST Industries.

I got a feeling that anyone who makes an Aftermarket intake for this will build in a Delete Plate on to the intake.

Thats a lot of scratch for plastic. I could see if it was alum and polished but plastic!!!! How much R&D is in a manifold that almost looks like the stock with the CMPD built in. Yes it does take some money for the equipment to do the R&D work, but How much do you think it costs to produce that manifold. Don't know

I have been in touch with FAST (offered to test the manifold...) It is going to be pricey and they're still doing R&D as it's seemingly trickier than one would think... something about no room to expand up which the need for some flow numbers and smoothing...??

They said it pretty consistently adds 40 RWHP at peak on a CAIed and tuned stock car!! It would of course be more for me or probably anybody with for example P&P heads and/or LT headers...?? Anyway 40 is a lot, and then if you get more with increaded flow from other parts... $800 may not be so high...?? Problem right now is to make it work at all RPMs as I understood their e-mail...??

40hp from an Intake... How. The stocker isn't that bad. I could see it if it was on a car with Long tubes, Cams, P&P heads... but on a basically stock engine?

Well... now that I think about it. A stock car running 87 as base add in CAI with larger MAF(take your choice of brand) and a 93 Octane tune.. we all know that a 15-20hp increase can be had.... some from the extra air and some from the added timing. CMDP can add about 5-10RWHP with the proper tuning. So, I would believe it if they are comparing their "new number" against the base with the CAI, assume it removes the Charge Motion Plates, and running a 93 Octane tune. Which leads them only finding 10hp in the intake. I can believe that. I don't believe a intake swap would give you 40 more HP over a CAI and 93 octane tuned car already.

Unless that is 40hp peak and it looses a substantial amount at lower RPM. Thic could be achieved using a "tuned" runner length meant to flow at say 6000RPM rather than flow well accross the board.

Were you around for the 2V PI's? Don't know how much those manifolds made but it was A LOT... our cars are much more receptive towards more air (VT)... I think 40 RWHP is true at peak for a CAIed and tuned S197 GT. 60-65 counting the CAI and initial tune... I do believe you're onto something when you say it runs bad at low RPM since they're still working on it due to poor distribution over the register... I also think it will need a new air meeter like the MAFia or similar...?? I can only imagine with P&P head, cams and LT's!!!!

That sounds like the old Boss 302 had the large intake runners and at low rpm they sucked but get the rpm up then look out.

No, I wasn't around at that time, but I am just kind of looking at what I saw of the intake with it off. Given the available space and current shape vs the size of the intake runners.... the Stocker looks like a pretty good piece.
