25* is way too much for these motors.

Where did you get this number of 25* from? I'm not questioning you as to say you are a liar, but Even on the '03-04 Cobra's, I never run that much unless it's with Race gas. Too many things can go wrong in a split second to run that much timing.

I have heard that also from several KB guys. And I might be remembering something that didn't happen, but I could have sworn that I saw it somewhere on the KB site.

This IntelliTXT stuff sucks.

you gotta remember, KB tests their cars in a controlled enviorment and only need to make the car/motor last ONE good Pull so they can post and display the Dyno numbers. I can make a single turbo'd '06 make 700RWHP..........ONCE, but for long life, it will make 550-600.

I've heard the same thing from the KB guys.
I've heard that the JDM Saleen Street tune is 16* and the Street "R" tune is 18*

On the turbo car we run around 18-20* with 104 octane gas, when we run Straight C16 I bump it up to around 22-24*.

On the street we only run about 14-15* with 93.

On the 03-04 Cobra's on 93 octane and ported blowers and a few bolt on's it never goes more than 20* with 93.

IAT's have alot to do with this as if they get high it pulls some timing.

On our new saleen blown car, I will most likely run 15-16* on the street and around 18-20 with race gas.

Default we can all benefit from free knowledge.

nice read and very interesting stuff, I agree with you all the way Cerino2000. I feel for you DynoJoe, but if I'm not knocking on the door at your place of business looking for a tune up and I'm searching the internet for answers chances are I can't afford you.

I run 15* max on my built motor... we took it to 22 once on the dyno... ran fine made great power but not beeing that 'controled', read; data logged, at all times it's just not worth it... air and fuel differs, from day to day and tank to tank...
