Hey all,
I finally purchased a Diablo Programmer for my 2006 Mustang GT. The only mods I have is S&B CAI and Pypes Violator axel-backs. I put in the 87 performance tune for now.
What else can I do to make it better with what I have. Do I have to do a small custom tune for the CAI and axel-backs? I will see how it does this weekend when I travel to Louisville with the 87 tune this weekend.
Take your baby to a good tuner and have it dyno tuned with a wideband, now that you have that CAI. If it is too lean it could cause damage, or not give full power. If it is too rich it will not make full power, and can damage the cats. Don't depend on the cars CEL. Besides, dialing it in is the only way to be sure you are getting the most out of the kit anyway.
Been down this road already.

The standard Diablosport tunes are designed to work with the stock intake.
According to S&B, its CAI is designed to work with the stock tune.
Thus, the standard Diablosport tunes should work with the S&B CAI.
However, if you notice any pinging with 87 octane gas, then try a different brand. If that does not help, then fill up with some 89 octane. If pinging is still present, then a dyno tune is in order as suggested by Phoenix Scanner.
The latest DSP update (r36) has a number of canned tunes for other CAIs now included in the program. I have the Steeda CAI with 90mm MAF and intake tube. Flows a lot more air. Diablo Sport has instructions on the site on how to update your DSP.
But, as stated above, have a good Dyno Tuner tweek it a bit more for optimum performance.
