anyone wants a good deal on a set of 4.10s? FORD racing & not even opened yet. lol On a serious note though - I like to get on it a bit in the street with a few buddies every now and then. So, to me it is all about that 40-150ish performance. I rarely ever get on it from a dig. Gears available here for a good price

sheet will come up later i am at work and i have the files at home, and i will post them later but i do know it was pig rich and went below 10/1. i would say install the 4.10 and you will enjoy it more daily driving and just will need more power for those roll races i beat my buddies 04 cobra with 470 hp, with a 75 shot of nitrous mainly becuase of driver experience but he has stock 3.55 gears and i have 4.30s.

Liar, it was 103mph. With the intake and tune.

245/45/17 I think. The profile is definetly smaller then stock.

Great thread folks...I'm new here. Have a 72 429 and 07 GT. Getting ready to start mods on my 07. My question after looking through all of this is...are we looking at a different animal with this new engine and the typical upgrades aren't that effective because of the high level of engineering done on the motors or am I missing something. I wanted the 4.10's as well but thinking to compromise w/ 3.73's.

Thoughts on this as well as other basics on this motor? Long/short headers, tuning, cold air intake, gears, etc?

Also...I've been reading in the threads various pushes on these motors as far as max wrhp you want to push this thing to. Is 400 rwhp about all a stock engine can handle or does the basic upgrades allow for more?

Gears are a personal choice depending on your driving habits and what you want the car to do. 450-475 rwhp is about as far as this engine can be taken safely without additional work.

My reccomendation to everyone here. Make sure you do a dyno tune and get it all worked out right. These mail order tunes are a joke, and a waste of time.

And you base this information on??? I've had several mailorder tunes that were as spot-on as my dyno tune. For FI, yes a dyno tune is a very good idea for safety. For lightly modded cars, a dyno tune is generally a waste of money.

Looking at my freinds car. What POS. WIth a 75 shot. He lost to me. Even with the 150 shot he lost to me by a fender. Dyno tune is what he needs because he should be beating me on his 75 shot. On lightly modded cars, yes, on nitrous cars or FI, lol its a joke.

I think it should have made more power... was thinking dyno setting error but then it pulled high again on the juice... is it a reputable shop? May they have changed the correction? Is it a dyno with a restriction a'la Mustang dyno?

I think the WMS is a POS but have only seen one on the dyno and it was REALLY hard to tune for. The intake pipe is too short and there is a lot of disturbances on the MAF meter. I can only imagine trying to e-mail a tune for it... Get a proper CAI and tune and pull again!

I think NA guys changing their gear to 3.73 or lower numbers will regret it! I think 4.10's are perfect for cars under 400 RWHP and hard street driving.

It will pull quicker at ANY speed! 0-60, 60-100, 0-150!! I love that there really is no lull anymore... you know on the highway and you're too fast for 2nd and too slow for 3d... you sit there and hope you can edge that ricer up to a speed where you can be in the powerband for third... with a 4.10 gear you'd already be there and ready to go at you best at all times!

I have 3.90 gear as I would top out in 4th at the 1/4 with 4.10...
