With FI, you need the HTO's and be prepared to change them also. Some guys have gotten more use out of them than others and it really depends on fuel.

On pump gas, the HTO's will last a lot longer but if you use higher octane fuel, you will find the HTO's foul way more often.

I have to change mine about every 20 passes.

ouch if i did that i would have to replace them at least twice a month a 9.95 a peice its a b!tch. I didn't know that about the higher octane gas i did run 104 before but maybe i should stop using it since i am only spraying a 75 shot.

I have not yet heard of anyone breaking an input shaft.
The auto trans has run a whole season going 10's in the windveil blue JDM car without a hitch.
There are many still running over 500 rwhp on the stock rear ends.

This is not written in stone however since there are people breaking rear ends and twisting driveshafts and burning clutches while stock.
Because someone else hasn't broken it doesn't mean that you won't.
I have a difficult time thinking that JDM hasn't rebuilt that stock tranny. That silver RPM outlet car has gone thru 6 trannies running 10's all along. If they say they haven't pulled that trans apart, I'd be really surprized! I'm not trying to debate it. I just think it would be misleading for someone to think the stock automatic is going to hold up to 10 sec passes w/o issue for the duration.

When I was at JDM day Nov 3rd I was told it went all last season without being opened up. It was mentioned though that it was getting tired. It may have been done after the season was over.

That's interesting. I'm about 99% sure Adam told me he stuck the HT1's back in my car because he was having some issues with the HT0's (but I don't recall the details). Anyway, those same plugs have been in my car since last August and I now have almost 10,000 miles on them and almost 350 runs at the track. And I add a couple gallons of 110 octane to the tank every trip to the track (25 trips in the past 6 months). Frankly, I'm surprised they are still working. LOL

Interesting... so with all that being said...it seems the new 4.6 is a bit different that the average motor in terms of what you can and can not do because of the excessive engineering put into the entire car.

So in consideration of the I want xxx what will it take?

Let's say I want 400-425 rwhp to play it on the more safer side of things... What mods should I do to my 07 gt to get here?

Stock internals are fine with a proper tune.
If you were to say 450 or more I would also say aftermarket fuel systm such as the GT500.
Once it is on the dyno or street tested fuel pressure and pump duty cycle will dictate if fuel system upgrades are needed
Stock transmission is ok also both manual and auto.
A clutch will eventually be needed on the manual and a torque converter will be desirable on the auto.
I would do a driveshaft and safety loop as cheap insurance.
A differential girdle is cheap insurance for the rear.
