2006 Mustang GT dyno numbers. Do they look about right?
I had my 2006 Mustang GT dyno'd a few weeks back and have been comparing my results with other cars with similar mods and also stock GT's. I am not sure if it is the dyno used (DYNOmite), but I can't help think the numbers look a bit low compared to others. The guy who dyno'd it said the numbers look real good and didn't think he could get any more out of it with a dyno tune. He was said he was just a bit concerned with the air to fuel ratio with the first run being 12.8:1 and the second run being 13.23:1, that it looked to be leaning out the more it was run. Does this seem normal? I also think he was using a sniffer type sensor in the tailpipe. My limited mods are as follows:
I would appreciate any opinions on how the numbers look (good, bad, or ugly). Sorry about the crappy image, I don't have a scanner so I took a picture of it. Thanks for your input.

Nope, thats about right... they are known to run a little rich though, and if he is using a sniffer in the tail pipe and not a wideband up near the engine... disreguard that data, its unreliabel at best. But, yes... 268hp seems to be Par for the 4.6 3V at the wheels.
What is up with the Edited Title at the top of the Page?

Kyle, Thanks for the input. I guess I will have to start looking for my next mod(s) to try and pick the numbers up then. I edited the title because it had my last name on the left, and the name of the shop on the right. I was not sure of the rules of posting the name of the shop if it is allowed or not.

We welcome the names of shops... it lets us know who might be in the area that can help us out. Wait, I just looked at your mods... the axle backs are known to add nothing, but the Intake and 93 tune should show better numbers. Then again, it depends on the type of dyno and if the operator got the SAE corrections accurate. Is you graph and numbers SAE corrected? If not, those numbers may be way off.
I would expect to see in the 285-295 range with a 93 tune.

I did not think to ask, but it does say on the bottom left corner of the sheet *Correction Method: SAE . Also I have no Idea why the torque number was not printed on the sheet. Thanks again.

Reason: messed up quote
Questions... always ask if you are not 100% sure what is going on. If not future test may not be very comparable.
I still think your car should make a bit more than that... but with any mass production item... sometimes tolerances stack and output from engines do vary. Its still not a bad number at all.

Those numbers look good. The A/F isn't too bad. You would have had a more accurate reading had he tested upstream of the cats.
Thanks, It was a Dyno Day Event, so there were alot of cars being dyno'd. I guess it would have really slowed things up if he had to install the sensor pre-cat in every car that was run. It was a good turn out and the guy did a real good job making sure everyone who wanted to run their car was able to.

don't fret about the dyno numbers, my car also dyno'd incredibly low compared to a typical LS1 I put down 271/277 with a cut-out only when most bone stock autos were putting down over 285, and plenty of manuals were over 300.
I went to the track and I was pleasantly suprised. Although my track numbers sucked, it had more to do with the track than the car. I found out that I'm running only .3 and 1 mph slower than a stock manual Z28. There was another A4 LS1 running very similar times to me, and there was a full bolt-on M6 SS running 13.4 and beating a stock terminator. So, although my numbers at the dyno sucked my car was running about as quick as it should. I even trapped higher than an intake and exhaust E46 M3! So take it to the track before you worry about your dyno numbers.
I can only tell you what my numbers are with a similar setup
I am starting to wonder if my removing the mufflers and putting the boom tubes (similar to Loudmouth 1's) on I may have offset the power freed up by the CAI and Tune. I thought I read somewhere that this motor likes a little backpressure. I just figured the cats would have been enough still.

True, I will be going to the track soon, so we shall see. I will post my results when I get them.
