Are you going to hammer the car at the track with DRs, or the same on the street? It does look cool back there if you can see it. But if your going to just drive on the street and hammer it once and a while, I wouldn't think you would stress the rear caps to the point you need one.

Well if you look at how many 8.8 rears that Ford has made and on the road, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The way I've seen F150's loaded and not seen anyone axle broke down, I don't think a 4.10 gear is gonna cause an 8.8 to collapse. After you git'r done let us know what ya think!

Thats were I did the dyno pulls after the CAI and tunes. From what I have read hear it seems the average stock rwhp is around 250-255 for an automatic. With the Airaid (which doesn't get many cudo's) my car dyno'd 284 rwhp with the Diablo tune. That would be a 30 horse increase at the rear wheels. I started to junk it and get a C&L but after seeing what the stock cars dyno I decided to get headers or the gears. At this time the gears fit into my budget a little better than the headers........I can't wait to see how the car runs with both.

And yes I am going to have Manny do the install. Probably one day next week, depending on his work load. The last time I was there he had just lost one of his main techs and was totally covered up.

I didn't get the girdle when I first got gears. I didn't get it until I had the new diff installed. However, if you can afford it, it does make it a lot easier to jack up the rear axle. No overhang below the housing.

My car put down 256/284 uncorrected, 252/279 SAE Corrected stock.

Good luck with the install. Hopefully I can make a run down there sometime next week....
