Okay, I need some help. I am trying to install a set of hood pins, much like how kj_cinci described in his hood thread. I understand what needs to be done, I am just not sure how to do it. I took out the rubber hood stops and looked around. The metal piece where the hood latch and hood stops are is a boxed piece of metal. I do not see any holes on the underneath side to work with. So, I jacked up my car, and crawled underneath to take a peak.
I see, that if I remove the headlights, I could then drill a hole in the bottom section of that metal brace (where the hood latch and hood stops are located) and install the hood pins. Furthermore, I have a set of clear front turning lenses to install as well.
Now here is my question...do I need to remove the front facia (and maybe grill) in order to remove the headlights? If so, how difficult is it ro remove the headlights and front facia?
Why I am at it, how exactly do the the truning signal lenses come out? I saw two clips near the fender well, and I observed that the lense assembly itself has at least one tab that is inserted into the bumper assembly. Other than that, I am clueless. I do not want to use brute force to remove them, just to discover that finesse would have worked better.
Sine I am mechanically challenged, I am a bit hesitant to remove the front facia of my Show Car just so I can install a set of hood pins, and why I am there, a set of clear trun signal lenses. But on the other hand, I really do not look forward to spending a small fortune for a body shop to do the work either.
Any help, tips, advice would be highly appreciated.
