Fail Safe-Limp Home will turn your AC, and CC off and move your rev limitor down to 4,000 RPM... sux!

Most times you'll be able to shut the car down, restart it and voila, works fine!!

Most of the times it has to do with your torque tables... in my case spinning with the TCS on by misstake triggered it...

Sunday I was driving along and the check engine light came on. When I got home I checked for codes and there were none so I re-loaded the tune Bamachips sold me for my car and didnt try to start it until the next morning. When I attempted to start the engine I got the failsafe message. I just turned the ignition off and back on and started the engine and the message was gone and the car ran fine. Think this all happened because of the BBK tb I installed with the kooks header system?

Yes, those TB's have been known to cause all kinds of trouble! Not worth the hazzle unless you have a hard charging TS to feed!!

Will the delete plates and stage3 cams I have to install as soon as I find time make a difference in how the TB works. I have thought about taking the tb off but if it will work better with the other mods I am about to make I will leave it on. I would think that with the engine being able to flow better, especially with the cams, that the tb might become more beneifical. No?

Some gains have been reported and the more air your engine can handle (CMDPs + cams for example) the more beneficial is a good CAI and a larger TB.

Is it worth the hazzle and great chance for troubles down the road... not to me! There are NA DOHCs out there making ~400 to the wheels with TBs about the same size as our stocker...

Try it both ways and post dyno numbers and any tuning issues with the larger one...

I can almost guarantee that the TB caused the failsafe. Your TPS voltage is probably off. It needs to read between 1.19 and 1.31 volts or it won't perform correctly.

The TB will show some gains with the cams, CAI, and CMCV deletes but it doesn't really start showing significant gains until you add forced induction.

I have it set at 1.19. Initially the voltage was at 1.27 and the idle stayed up too long. At 1.19 the idle rpm still stays up too long until it finally settles down for my taste. When I first put the TB on with the header system the car ran pretty good (as opposed to how it was running before the mods) and when I put the bamatune in it ran better and it still does run pretty good (nothing to compare it to though) but it has started bogging when I punch it at lower rpms and when it is cold it stumbles a bit until it gets warm. I am beginning to think the tb air flow may be overwhelming the engine, as some of you have told me. I think I am going to take if off this weekend and put the stock tb on and see how the engine runs. Good time to put the underdrive pulleys on too. Proof is in the pudding.

I'll be curious to hear what you find.
