Default Fog Lamp Problem with eleanor grill

I installed the eleanor grill which includes the cables for extending the fog lamps for use with this grill. Once I got it all together I decided to try the lights before I put the grill back in the car. The fog lamps didn't work. I disconnected the extention cables and plugged in the lights just as they were before and they still didn't work. Then I looked up what fuse controlled the fog lights, and it was blown. While still leaving the lights connected as from the factory, I replaced the fuse with a new one and they still won't work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

-Rodney

try turning your key to the on position then turn on your fogs i don't think they work without doing that unlike the headlights.

Page 170 in Owners manual shows a relay at location 30 for Fog Lamps -- there is also the same relay at location 34 (that is listed as not being used). You could swap these two relays, but note that they are reverse of each other in direction in High Current Fuse Box in Engine bay.
I found this on a friends '06 Mustang swapped them and Fog Lamps started working.

Right beside the relay for the fog lamps is one for the remote trunk release. I swapped that one in for the fog lamps one and it still didn't work, but it seemed to work for the trunk release. So I don't think it is the relay, but I will try the one in slot 34 as you mentioned.

kenneth is correct - your ignition needs to be in the ON position for the fogs to work. Did damn near the same thing after installing my HIDs.

Default Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got it taken care of. I replaced the fuse and started the car the it started working again. All t his after last night. I was not aware that you had to have the key set to the on position for the things to work. I still don't know what blew the fuses.

Anyway I wanted to thank everyone who responded.

The fog lights will turn off even if switch is pulled out with headlights on if you turn off ignition switch.I noticed this when I would get out to open the garage door at night.
