Has anyone installed a reputable plug-n-play HID conversion kit?
Just wondering if anyone has installed a reputable P&P HID kit in their 05+ Mustang such as that from www.autobadges.com or www.xenonlink.com. I plan to order the 6000K kit for my 07 GT tomorrow and was looking for experiences. I had HID in my BMW and I really miss them in my Stang.
Aloha, not sure how late I am on this, but check into "GT HID" I love them and they come in a variety of colors. I gotta get the website from my buddy as he is a rep for them.
where'd you get the Saleen HIDs? i picked up a kit from http://www.neverburnout.com but they are very, very blue at the 8000k hid range. would love to get something much closer to OEM.

How did your kits install? Straight plug and play? I know that some use the pass. side factory harness, and then run wires from it to an aftermarket harness on the driver's side, zip tie the factory driver's harness out of the way, and then run power to the battery. Does that make sense?
Just curious on whether you needed a different relay or wiring harness to avoid the head light flicker that is common on the 05+ cars with HID.
Please post some comments on your install, as well as any pics that you have with your lights on.
There is an article in this month's 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords regarding a P&P HID kit sold at AmericanMuscle.com. It converts both headlights (with dual beam technology) & foglights to HID for about $280. Plus the Babe of the Year is in this month's issue as well.

Hi Darren,
I installed a brand new Saleen HID kit that I bought off eBay for $450. Amazing OEM HID lighting quality! True HID high and low beams. I also picked up a pair of HID conversion H10 bulbs and ballasts for the stock GT Fog lights for $110 and they are really bright too but with the Saleen HID headlights I really have no need for the HID foglights unless I really want to blast someone. Do yourself a favor, if you are after the brightest light on the ground buy 4300K or 5000K bulbs NO HIGHER! Higher color temp bulbs just mean less visible light that humans can use to see with, higher is bluer and less brightand more glare to oncoming traffic.
HTH!

I have installed the www.xenonlink.com low beam kit and I can't believe the difference from regular headlights. I am having trouble though with flickering. I first installed the kit directly through the factory wiring harness. It worked fine sometimes and sometimes the driver's side headlight would flicker then go out. (which makes sense being farther away from the battery) So I installed an HID wiring harness and the HID kit now gets direct power from the battery. But now everytime I put them on, both lights flicker like crazy. What do I have to do to stop the flickering? Bigger altenator or battery???
ok i know i dont belong here. but i have the bi xenon hid kit from vvme.com and it is incredible. i went with the 4300k because its the brightest. it does make driving at night fun again. it was easy to install and it never flickers. its easy to tell there hid's even though theyre not the blue high kelvins. every once in a while i shut the lights off cuz i'm in shock at how much i'm lighting up and when i turn them right back on i say 'wow thats really me'. xenons give off ultra violet rays which make reflections off cop cars and street signs ideal for night driving. you are going to love them
hid xenons use up less power (going into the ballasts) so it cant be the alternator or battery that makes them flicker. its usually a loose ground that makes them flicker, thats why they never flicker when car is parked so its hard to find where the soft ground is
