SCT X3 unable to load tunes

Just a FYI. I just got off the phone with SCT. All of the new X3's have a major bug. If you have purchased a new SCT X3 make sure you have installed the latest firmware. It was released on 9/26/2007. The device will run out of memory after loading/changing tunes. Symptoms are the device will hang "Pulling Up Options..." They have released a firmware upgrade that will resolve this issue. The update was posted yesterday.

Unfortunately I was one of the 1st people to report this bug. SCT still has my tuner. They were to have shipped my X3 back to me today. I'll let you know once I load the tunes back into my car.

Nope. Thank God at least I was able to put the car back to stock. I would have hate to have a car down for a whole week!

Yes, all the X3's have this problem. Not updating may corrupt your computer when you try to load a tune. I just updated my computer on my car. Runs great! SCT gave me a ton of stuff too. Got a swiss army knife, pens, and a couple of t shirts.

hey guys. i have a CAI kit from JLT with an SCT tuner device. when i tried to load it i got the error UNSUPPORTED ECM CHECK UPDATES. the guy at JLT told me to download updates on SCT website. btw i have an 07 gt 5spd. anyhow, after not having internet at home due to moving twice i finally plugged it into usb port on pc, downloded all the updates i could find. the pc does not recognize sct device and i cannot seem to load the updates into it. so now i have a CAI kit sitting in the box and doing nothing for my performance. any ideas?

Make sure you download the proper drivers so your pc can recognize the device. They should also be on the CD that came with your SCT.

Call SCT if you need tech support. I always had great luck talking to their techs. Longest I have had to wait is 3 minutes before I was able to talk to a tech.

Let me make sure I understand this. You can't flash the vehicle or you're having difficulty getting the pc to recognize the device??
