Some have talked about removing the butterfly valves but it would also require filling a few holes left behind (I suppose a little JB Weld would do the trick). I don't think anyone has actually tried it yet.

I see no value in a throttle body spacer for any application.

If your really interested in a throttle body spacer, I have a Jet power flow TB Spacer that I can no longer use due to the intake Im running (lack of space under hood). PM me if your interested, It is the same as helix, but Blue.

I saw a very marginal increase in gas mileage during long cruises. about 1 MPG more, in long driving trips. Day to day it was about the same as without it

2007 GT, V8 4.6L, 3 valve, Automatic Tranny, Color: Vapor, 3.31 Rear Axle Gear.
Mods: AFE Stage 1 Air intake kit, Helix Throttle Body Spacer, Superchips Programmer

Shopping Cart Items:
Steel Steeda Strut Tower Brace - This Depends on what you want to do with the car, Rally race style driving then get them. Drag Racing, Not Needed just adds weight.

Steeda Mustang Underdrive Pulley System - Go, unless you plan on a robust Audio system with Amps and Subs or a Supercharger.

Ford Racing Springs (Mustang K-Springs - 2005) - Go

Steeda Billet Charge Motion Control Plates (2005+ GT) - Go, I like them but they do require a tune, they add in low end torque, and very noticable on the Autos.
I went from 13.21 in the 1/4 to 12.90 with CMDP

CDC Aggressive Chin Spoiler - Go, I want this one as well,

I would consider picking up a pair of Lower Control Arms, the Stock ones have too much play in them and they tend to flex under load, this creates wheel hop.

I agree with others about the TB spacers, they are a waste of money. plus this may have a negative effect with the CMDP. I never have any luck with TB spacers or Aftermarket TB, more trouble

Thank you in advance - Fred (eod4paws@yahoo.com)

Go on Tower Brace. Look at the Strange Development version too.

Definate Go on the Steeda UDP's. Also look into Meziere Elec. Water Pump.

Hmm on the Ford springs. maybe consider getting complete FRPP Handling Pkg. Made a nice difference in mine.

No-Go on the CMDP. haven't heard on this forum of it really making a substantial benefit.

Go on Chin Spoiler. I got the Classic and it made a nice sporty addition. According to CDC, they're making the spoilers out of a new compound now and the finish is in black matte, so no need to have painted unless you want it to match your car color. real nice since stone throws won't show up so much either.

good luck with your MODS. Beware though. once you start, you'll never stop.

Default Similar situation

Fred,
I am in the same boat, I am stationed in Germany and my car will be here in February. Cant wait!! Already starting to get the aftermarket list together!! I am going to do a blower as soon a engine is broken in(have some money stashed from being down range in harms way), and some of the same mods you are doing. Good thread, should be good for many new owners, lots of folks have already made good and bad choices on aftermarket stuff, kinda why I waited for the S197 to be a couple of years into production(plus not much time with my deployments). Can't wait to seriously run down an M5 or M3, or some AMG Mercedes on the Autobahn(after the mods) and show em my a$$ end. Cant wait to make that Autobahn run!! I'll post a video link in the spring once the car is settled in and she is tuned correctly.
Good luck with your Stang,
Jack in Bavaria

Congrats on the S197 in Germany. That will be FUN !!! I took mine up to 156 and ran out of room/safe place to turn the 3.31 rear gears in it :0) I bet many of us Stateside would love a chance to run on the open Autobahn. I will keep the thread going with updates! Made a new on last night concerning tires and rims.

Blessings and Grace from Far Above 5'280 Feet.

The Following has arrived and the Mod process has begun )

INSTALLED TONIGHT AFTER WORK:

Steel Steeda Strut Tower Brace -10 minutes-
Looks very mean and aggressive under the hood with attitude. The precision STEEDA Logo Cutout in the center and the "S" on the side base mounts are just plain COOL!

8-inch Fixed Black Antenna - 5 minutes.
USE the longest adapter screw in the pack of three. WORKS GREAT.

3 piece billet crome grill insert - 45 minutes. Frustration was obtained here due to minor dremil and grinder use to adjust the ends to allow a proper fit. DO NOT TRY TO FORCE OR "Make it Fit" Reduce the overall lengths of the Billets to allow a "Drop in" I marred the outside edges of the front fog lamps. VERY SOFT PLASTIC. I ordered the 4 pice set from E-bay. Looks Great and very aggressive profile. I am Considering painting the crome and existing facia a Satin Black to cover the marring and match the front smoked covers on the headlights.

I recommend a upgrade to the 61wt or 55wt head lamp for the 42wt stock bulbs. the bulb dog ears need to be cut down in width a little to allow the "snap fit" into the exisiting lamp housing.

Tomorrow's project (later today):
Steeda Mustang Underdrive Pulley System
Ford Racing Springs -Mustang K-Springs
Ford Racing Hood Pins

Still awaiting the arrival of:
CDC Aggressive Chin Spoiler
Polished intake manifold cover "Powered by Ford"

Window tinting will be done next week

- Fred
