Hello everyone, I'm new in allformustangs. I own an 06 gt in Guayaquil-Ecuador(South America) and I've several problems. First, I love mustangs so much that I'd like to make it the fastest car in Ecuador, but there are several good competitors. I already have the Ford Racing CAI, 4.10 gear, headers and short shifter installed and also, I took off the catalytic converters and the muffler (now its a complettely free exhaust with no interruption. There are no laws against that here). I'm also about to install these week or the other the Eibach springs, shock and struts, and front and rear swaybars and Iridium spark plugs. I also have the Predator but I don't know what parameters to change and how much because I have no Kwoledge at all in mechanic and there are no dynos here in Guayaquil. So you can notice that my situation is awful, but I want my stang to kick azzs. Mustangs should be the best everywhere. I'm just 21 years old, with no knowledge in mechanic. This is my first car and the car I always dream. My father wanted to buy me an M5, 350 Z or Z4 but I always wanted the mustang. I will like someone to have the pacient to help me out, indicating or recomending me what pharameters should I change.
I think you should consider Sniper Special Forces. It is a Predator/SCT type of device with one HUGE benefit those do not have. You create your own tunes! Just select all the mods you have as well as other info from drop down menus and it creates your tune.
yes, I think I went with him. That's what it says in the "contact us" section, "Douglas Studdard". I hope he answer me back soon.
Doug is great and his tunes kick ass. But I was referring to JDM Engineering and one of their Saleen superchargers. That'll get you in the 400rwhp range in a hurry.

If your goal is to really be the fastest car there, you should stop messing around and contact JDM. They'll ship you a Saleen S/C and email you tunes for it as well. Your setup now is quick, but with the cars you've listed and the owners modding them, you won't be the quickest.
thanks, I appreciate your comment and advice. Yes, I kown that but "little by little." First I'd like to beat the stock or almost stock evos and sti, and later those modified. Beside, the next year I'm going to enter university in the states. Probably Alliant in San Diego or FYU in Miami.
if you go to miami you will be able to drive your car here in FL, where there is also no restrictions on free flowing exhaust! that is of course if you wanna have your car transported here...
Thanks again, I didn't know that. Are you sure that includes no catalytic converters?... I thought on that, too, on driving it to the States, but passing throught Colombia is scary.

Catalytic converters are required in all 50 states. It's a federal law.
Just fill the tank at the border and haul ass with that stang of yours and columbia will be a breeze. (except maybe if you need to stop for more fuel. Hmm maybe a KC-135 aircraft refueler. Just gotta figure out the snorkel hook up..) Sorry , getting a little carried away...BTW Nice mods how bout some pics??

The closest to gas that a 135 can haul is JP-5 from a Navy base. The old 115/145 would be beyond great but not used with the AF anymore. I wouldn't want to see one that low without the gear and flaps down.

Welcome to Mustangs. Your wide band O2 sensor is your most important instrument if you do not have a dyno in your area. If you have not installed it yet, do it now. When you do, you can lean out the mixtures at any rpm setting as long as you stay below 13:1 under power. At cruise the computer will try to keep it 14.7:1 for mileage. I would be very carefull adjusting the timming. If you do it, adjust 1 (one) degree at a time, (advancing) and listen for pinging under power. If you get pinging back off the timing. If you have higher octane fuel you can advance for more power. The professionals like Bamachips are always your best bet but it is nice to have that Wide band O2 sensor so you can see what the tune has done for you. If you see it with very lean numbers then call the tuner back and tell them where you are getting them so he can adjust the tune. It sounds like you are going to have alot of modifications so it may take more than one try at getting the tune where you want it. Good luck GA

Thanks Gary. Maybe I'll end doing what you said given I haven't receive any response from Doug so far. Can you help me out being a little more specific about what else to change, perhaps something related to the exhaust (did you read I don't have the catalytic converters.)

From what I understand, Doug at Bamachips is a one man shop and is very busy. He takes a little while to get back to you but his work is worth the wait. There are others that do acceptable tunes. Brenspeed is good and will modify their tunes for you if you buy your parts from them. Thats a good deal...
I am keeping my motor mostly stock so I am not the best to ask for suggestions on this particular motor. I used to road race a 5.0 and built, rebuilt a 347 many times, so I know those very well. The thing to keep in mind when you start modding a motor is that it is a PUMP. Air and fuel go in, and the exhaust goes out. The more air and fuel that goes in, and the faster the exhaust goes out the more power you can make. This is an over simplication of course but that is the idea.
I would suggest going to the Corral.net which has is a good mustang forum also and has forums just for 4.6 motor modifications and start reading and searching for information. You will learn a great deal..
